Tapanga Soul the last thing a wrestler wants to do is lie on their back and that’s what he was doing. Even if you can hear the ref you should know immediately to get out of that position. The ref also said “danger” to Kemerer.

Kemerer got pinned at nationals from a very similar move. And lost to a true Penn State freshman this year. And he must be 25 years old. Joseph pinned him for a State title when he was in High School. He has a bad habit of losing to Penn State wrestlers.

Can someone explain the rule for having control of the other in order to score points? More specifically if it differs for back points, because I was just confused when they gave Hall points for that weird backpack interaction. Do you need control of only one limb to score back points? (Hall's right hand on Kemerer's left knee 4:55)

@kentburandt5767

I have noticed that tournaments do not really have the same intensity as dual meets. Usually silencing home crowd as the road wrestler or hyping the crowd up as the home wrestler brings serious intensity. Two great examples are Austin Desanto vs Seth Gross in the dual where Desanto wins handily over the #1 wrestler at the time and the crowd erupts, and Austin Desanto vs RBY where Desanto loses and the crowd is dead silent because he injury defaulted.

Listen I'm not making excuses for Kemerer but you can tell that both of them were disappointed by this. I've seen Hall pop off before when he wins big, but this didn't come down to skill vs skill. It must have felt so anti-climatic to win like that. He just had to awkwardly accept the victory when they were raising his hand in the end. I'm not saying Hall would not have beat him otherwise, it just looked disappointing.
