I wish celebrities (and people in general) would do proper research in the type of dog they're getting. Letting a beagle off leash is a serious risk.

Can confirm. My dad and brother tried to take my beagle hunting one time. First, he was gun shy and got spooked by a practice shot. Then he caught the scent of something, and they spent hours chasing after him in the woods. It wasn't the dog's fault though. It was my dad's fault, who had never been hunting before but took my brother because he wanted to go, and they never thought to actually train the dog to actually be a hunting dog. It was a shitshow all around. 😂

@@typh2630 actually a lot of people recommend beagles are basically never let off lead in an unrestricted area (e.g. fenced area such as a dog park). even when recall is good, beagle instinct to follow scent trails is just really, REALLY strong. it’s not just a matter of training but simply how innate their drive to follow prey is

@@er-ha Thank you, finally someone putting it simply what I wanted to say. Fans are getting angry at me for pointing this out. I have no interest in pointtlesly critizising him, but this is about the animal's safety, not an attack towards him. And its information everyone thinking about a beagle should know - it's always a huge risk to lett them off leash no matter how strong their training is and Guri is even still learning and not yet a strongly trained dog.

changsub takes her to dog training centre everyday(her kindergarden). I hope they r teaching her right things. N As we saw guri came running back as soon as he heard him, hopefully she won't go anywhere without her dad🥰

Who are u to say he didn’t do proper research? He knows his dog is a beagle and regularly trains her himself and at a center. If it’s not obvious, his dog knows how to behave, he doesn’t let her go far anyway he’s not stupid. Ur essentially just repeating what’s already in his head. The only reason she’s off leash is bcuz this is a tv show and it’s a relatively rural area, again, he’s not stupid he knows how to treat his dog.

@@typh2630 Even if it's just for a tv show, letting a beagle of leash is always a huge risk. And risking her safety for just a show is irresponsible. I know Changsub loves her a lot, so I hope he rather isnt aware of the risk, than that he willingly took the risk just for a shoot. Even in a rural area unless roads are many many away kilometers away, a beagle on the hunt can easily cross that distance. In this video it's obvious he's working on the recall, but it's by no means a strong recall. It takes time for Guri to react, she doesnt come directly to him and he needs to lure it. This is a very basic recall, definitely not a strong one. Only a very strong recall might stop a beagle once they catch a scent, and even then the dog might not stop. My beagle mix had a very strong recall, I'm talking the type where she came to me on the first call immediately and directly to me, but even then it wasnt enough. Once she was sniffing in a bush and there ended up being a rabbit (they can be even close to camping sites) and not even the much stronger recall than Guri's was enough to stop her. We were more than 5km from the nearest road but she followed the fresh trail all the way there and got hit by a car. It's a miracle she survived, but her injuries were severe and could all have been avoided if I didnt let a hunting breed off leash. I was aware of a beagle's strong hunting drive and only let her offleash once she had a strong recall, but even then I shouldve believed those who said beagles arent a breed that should be kept off leash.

All I know is that even the renowned dog trainer Kang Hyung Wook praised changsub for his care of Guri. Changsub knows what he's doing when he chose a beagle. Changsub is the kind of man who understand the responsibilities and consequences of his decision.
