Yeah this sucked hard. These young boys, so excited as for most of them it was their first trip to America, experiencing the things they had only seen or heard about on TV or other media, enjoying the moment to end up being kidnapped. Even if they were only in the dark about it for five minutes, it was five minutes too long. And although there were some positives throughout the series, the negatives are what stick out to me as they were horrible. I can understand why BTS members do not recall this period in their careers fondly.

Thank you for saying that. It bugs me when people yap about stuff saying they're not hiphop or that this track wasnt as hiphop. I'm like what crack you at? Just because it's not a banger for you doesn't mean it's not hiphop and there are a lots of songs that are bass heavy bangers with flexing or dissing lyrics that doesn't necessarily factor in as hiphop but more of shallow boasting based on the idea of what's hip or cool. Hiphop has soul. It's a movement. It's the culture and history that comes with it. It speaks the ugly truths in a person's life. If it lacks that, it's a flimsy attempt to look gangsta. It's funny how hiphop becomes a mere concept just for the sake of visuals. 🤦‍♀️

oh boy oh boy this series... I remember watching it, I just couldn't watch certain parts because I felt too cringey and bad for the boys. On numerous occasions in the episodes I thought it was a bit too much what they had them do. They were also pretty rude to them, I suppose they didn't think they'd get as far as they are now, I mean nobody did at that time, right? They were nobody. But look at them now :D though they don't really do hip hop a lot anymore. But I suppose some of the experience wasn't too bad either. The fact that it is a reality show doesn't make it better, either. I just don't like this forced drama that's going on there

They don't do HIPOP anymore. LOL...Please August D (aka Suga) RM and J Hope are constantly putting out Cyphers and HipHop mixtapes. They are the top of the game. AHL made them respect and drop the stereotypes and they grew better at it. For th last few years, Hip Hop Stars in The Black Community are just now understanding this and are totally stoked

This was so messed up and cringey. They were still kids in a new country without being able to speak the language...pretty traumatizing I would say. Honestly I don't ever recommend that people watch this show. It was not well done, imo, and there were a lot of moments that were more harmful than not. There are so many other early shows like BTS Gayo and even the early RunBTS episodes that give you a more well rounded idea of who they are as people rather than one cringey situation after another with a few actual valuable lessons scattered throughout. I watched it once when it first came out and that was more than enough for me, it made me so mad at the time lol.

I think the whole Coolio thing was like any, so called reality, tv show where they just up the drama for viewers but again it was still a bit cringe for me because the innocence these boys have just makes you feel for them like someone told me in comments, they said Monq, your Dad instinct looked like it kicked in" lol it felt like that. 🌟⛩️🙏🏾😁

If there was any one to blame for the kidnap prank, it would be BangPD. He would have the known the entire plan & script of the show. I suppose, as was said, it was part of the awe & shock of reality TV. BangPD signed off on the prank, to give the show a better "bang" for the buck. And when that recorded welcome voice came on, after they were sat down, it should have been in Korean instead of English.

They were all TEENS, too, from a very polite, conservative society, that they were trying to introduce changes to, w/their lyrics/beats/flow!..Can't wait to see ur reaction to the rest of the episodes..In some ways it IS cringey, but it IS an important part of their journey..Also thought Coolio's attitude was "over the top", but knowing show producers, every participant was prob. told to "amp" things up like they do in reality shows, to be Moe "exciting" Btw, ask any teen in America what is hip'hop, you'll get tons of diff. answers, lol😊💜

First time I saw this I was scared and really angry that this was done to them. This time, I'm like, what the hey.....there's cameras filming all around them as everything was going down....they had to know sumthin' was up and now I look again and for sure bad azz Suga wasn't scared a bit...look at his face. Anyway, good to hear/see it from a black man's perspective as I am just a lily white old grandma.... and, I appreciated the lesson in hip hop. Thanks!

@rapjinenthusiast731
@rapjinenthusiast731 2 жыл бұрын
@@suem433 In some comment section but I don´t remember unfortunately where exactly...someone wrote they had to refilm some part of the scene because Yoongi actually at some point got up ready to fight and placed himself between the kidnappers and the other members when they crossed a line and came too close ... he also was the first to discover the hidden cameras but even after that the others were -understandably- still scared and confused so he was angry and protective of them and they had to calm him down and convince him first to continue ... I never found any sources to verify that story but after watching it again and just focusing on Suga ... I mean he does seem to be in a pretty scary mood whenever the camera shows him ...and who could blame him just look at Hobi or Jungkook the whole thing was horrible to watch and I´m very sure (because some comments are mentioning it) even if Bang PD knew the script he surely didn´t know it would play out like this! As far as I know, this isn´t how a korean tv show would normally ever work and I don´t think he could have even imagined something downright scary like that ever happening to his boys...I mean if you really think about it in the end the script is about them being forced to take off their socks😅 what actually makes the scenes scary are the actors and THE ATMOSPHERE that was created - and they didn´t stop even when they saw how scared the boys were😬 even though they were so young too😭and not even at the end did they try to lighten the mood/change to a different attitude! You would think a "prank" (even a very very bad one) only lasts till it ends but there never was a point of relief?!😭

Our guys took that opportunity and experience to hone their craft as Artists. Love the growth and progress they've made for themselves. 💜 #ARMYsince2014 Boy in Luv introduced me to BTS back in 2014. Despite being ARMY since 2014, I still have so much to catch up on. 😭😂Just glad I'm caught up on all their RUN episodes and can finally watch new ones every Tuesday. If you haven't already, definitely check out the newest video from xceleste "This is BTS ARMY: Introduction to BTS fans" ➡kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n6upZ9qEupbYaGw.html Btw, have you watched "House of ARMY"? Oh dear, oh dear... My heart went out for BTS when I watched this episode... Pfff! Intense can't really describe it... -_- Though they learned and enriched themselves through this experience, as you will see as you continue with the episodes, I must say that it was completely and absolutely unnecessary to scare our darlings that way... -_- I mean, really...what was the purpose of that? None. I guess we can say that BTS faced a part of American culture that no one should be proud of... However, BTS managed to roll with the punches, and moved on... And they certainly have and still continue to move on. They have grown to be, in my opinion 'artist extraordinare'. Hope you actually ENJOY the rest of the episodes ^_^. Much love from México!

Just a warning Mnet is known for blocking and taking down videos, they also like to give strikes to channels. Also that kidnapping prank was not funny. I've seen some people say that they were in on the joke, but I don't think you can fake a reaction like Jungkook's or J-Hope's. They were both terrified. Jungkook even says when it was happening he was thinking of his parents and if he would ever see them again, he was only 16 years old too.

@MONQ TV To be honest only RM who knows about hip hop because of Warren G who though him about it. RM mentioned in one interview that he will never forget what Warren G thought him about hip hop that will be two things he mentioned that Warren G thought him about it. Warren G and him collab before he passed away. By the song they both did its about Warren G. Suga might know by his own point of view or from RM. Because Suga collab with RM alot compare to Jhope. If you look at there past even until now both surffer depression and mental health. RM even made a song about suicidal even Suga as well. Because of the journey getting through music is damn hard. People can't even try to understand keep putting the blame on them especially RM just by there past mistakes. After this American Hustle Life that they did. It's either good for them or not. I'm saying this because this is where RM himself made more mistakes no one even stop them. But luckily it stop when he meet Warren G. I thank him for making RM understand about Hip hop.

I did enjoy seeing BTS navigate LA for the first time when barely anyone knew who they were. You would never think just a few years later they would be the biggest group in the world, selling out stadiums all over the world, and breaking records left and right. So the lesson is if you see a group of young Korean guys passing out flyers asking you to come to their free concert, you might want to take them up on their offer. Because in a few years down the line their concerts will sell out minutes.

I hate this episode, it was so unkind! Didn't like episode 2 either, Dante and Coolio were not nice and the good natured members of BTS didn't deserve it. It got better from episode 3 though.

Watching that made me angry. 🤬 I have avoided watching this series, just the title gives me bad vibes. I hate reality shows to begin with (haven't watched one since Real World Season 1 - and I wasn't all that impressed), but this was just rude and unnecessary. It's not even drama, it was just stupid. 😡 If you need to create artificial drama, then maybe the writing, concept, and script just sucks. Real drama is watching teens and 20somethings work so hard they collapse backstage, shed tears about perceived flaws, then shake off physical pain and drag themselves up to perform the next set. That asinine "prank" even totally overshadowed the best parts of them all walking the streets of LA and being excited about the performers.

At first I thought kookie was going to jump out the van and when he asked RM to say something my heart dropped for them man. I was a bit upset that they would do them THAT hard. I mean these guys only know as much as they are told or see on TV and even if they had been to Los Angeles before they have NOT seen THAT part of it. Me having had lived in LA and seeing where that office was, I would have been like nah man they gonna have to email that paperwork. Driver turn the van around and get the hell out of this neighborhood lol. NOW!!! 🌟🙏🏾⛩️😁

@@MONQTV yeah. That was totally down to the network. Not okay. And having seen Suga almost square up on a scare actor during a Zombie Run type situation(out of fear), I was half expecting him to do something similar. I’m not a fan of those types of “pranks,” period.

@@fbts9901 it portrayed black men people of color in a negative light as gangster thugs and kidnapper robbers ect which our news media entertainment media as well cast for the whole world to see that this is what people of color are like so if some one see this and decides to come to USA if they saw this show in the back of their minds if they encounter a group of black men or someone of color you don't they might think back to seeing this episode encounter and think that this might happen to them as well! yea the black actor acting as thugs got paid to do this but really some of the things they did was a bit much even for me I don't care that it was a reality show and for entertainment purposes it totally plays into the perception of what people think and portray many black American citizens as its disgusting we don't need more negativity and and stereotypes that many of us deal with on a daily bases in this country. Every country in this world has both good and bad folks but here in this country they treat people of color as a whole that we are all bad dangerous and uneducated, lazy people ect, and we need to be encounter with caution these are the same stereotypes my grandparent and their parents dealt with ! .Sorry for the long rant it from my prospective as person of color .

@@fbts9901 Yes, everything Sandra M mentioned above. It just sheds a really bad light overall. More positivity is needed in this world. That "prank" was unnecessary and I totally feel bad for the guys, however our guys took that opportunity and experience which helped to hone their craft as Artists. They certainly grew from their experiences. 💜 #ARMYsince2014
