It's not that girls aren't goofy, it's that we cannot afford to be. Women are taught from the moment we turn about 8 yrs old that for the rest of our lives we cannot afford to be careless around guys because it can easily get us killed or assaulted, so we keep ourselves restrained and are only goofy with people that have spent years gaining our trust. This is amplified even more for women in the entertainment industry, because the general public is far less lenient on women when it comes to fame. Edit: Korea has a lot of problems with misogyny in general, but kpop has a very specific kind of aversion towards the idea of relationships and/or "bad" reputations. A woman just being goofy in the kpop industry one time can, and has, quickly turn into years of cyber bullying (sometimes bad enough to lead to suicide) and not always exclusive to the girl. If she was with a guy, he can very easily become an unintentional gas for those crazy people's flames of hate.

Rant about the "guys are more fun than girls" . . Months late but I had to comment. Love the content but I felt the need to clear it up. Women don't really "mature faster" in the sense of brain development. Little girls are forced to think about certain things and that sticks with them as they age. It's never "do what you want, let kids be kids" with girls, it's always "you have to act like a young adult. Stop acting like a child". Hence why they grow up with the mindset of "I can't do that bc I have to act 'ladylike'" which only today, aka gen z, have I started seeing that change were people are finally acting like people. But that is true for a lot of cultures. Women, especially female kpop idols have an image to maintain. Just look at some of their mistreatment. Girl groups aren't even allowed to enjoy sweet foods (like ice cream) in a mv, they're forced to spit it out afterwards. Look at Haw Sa/Mamamoo, they often receive backlash for their "sexy" appeal and independent woman image bc it differs from the norm. Or even some of the tiktok women who aren't sticking to social norms. Good for them but it sucks that it's not more normalized. They're people too and shouldn't have to prove themselves just bc someone either forgot or didn't want to shave their legs/underarms. The backlash comes from men and women. It's hard to break away from how you grew up, which is why many women have trouble letting themselves enjoy certain things or even life if they were to act how they wanted/wished. and it's not as simple as "just do it" bc it's a mindset. It's no different then trying to tell a religious person about atheist pov or telling homophobic people about the gay's pov. It's not easy to change someone's mind whether you have good intentions or not.
