I literally don’t get the hate about the track when BTS themselves said they love this song more than Butter.. I don’t get why people are questioning BTS and if they really wanna be doing this or are they’re being forced to do it.. it’s like they don’t know BTS at all. They have a lot more freedom with their music and decisions than a lot of other artists and are respectful when the company or more are part of the process.. and on top of that people are over the 3 English songs they made, I mean let’s forget MOTS7 before dynamite, along with the Japanese album before dynamite.. and then after dynamite we had BE album (Korean) and then later we had Butter but also and Japanese album (one new song on it) but omg, 3 English songs in a similar genre is just “too much”. This song is perfect for the ending of the three English songs they made in order to spread happiness and hope (if this is in fact the last one they’ll do for a bit). I loved every single one because they gave happy, positive vibes for people to just forget about the world for a moment and smile.. dance. And I agree it’s absolutely fine to dislike while noticing how happy they are. It’s the hate for dumbass reasons and wanting to box them into a corner so people get the music they want outta them. They are so happy these days (between the good and bad days) and I love that they wanna show that. They seem so at peace.. why miss their struggle in order to make music like their past songs? it's very obvious Dynamite, Butter & PTD are fun filler songs for the pandemic, nothing too serious. clearly they want us to vibe out and have fun. like it's obvious this is the filler arc of music in the pandemic. nobody is releasing a full blown era bc that leaves them nothing to promote bc of guidelines. look what happened to mots 7, the era was completely interrupted by COVID and thus it was cut short and therefore they couldn't promote the way they wanted to. touring is one of the biggest parts of an "era" and BTS have said they want to do the mots7 tour as soon as they can. So we may not get another big full blown era till then. Maybe some mini albums here and there but not a full album like mots7 till they can tour again. That's what I think anyway.

Honestly I just need people to stop being so racist and xenophobic. Like this "please go back to singing in your native language" mentality is so wrong and it's incredibly weird to me people don't understand that. English was accepted as a global language, everybody expects you to know and use it and yet, when BTS makes a song some western stans don't like, suddenly it's "no stop". If they want to sing in english, they can. Who are people to say they shouldn't? People need to stop gatekeeping the English language. PTD is a fun song and yeah if you want to, you can see it as only a surface level pop song that has no meaning. But that's on you, because it does have meaning. Namjoon coming in on the vocals at the beginning definitely left me shook. Of course, we've heard his vocals before on his mixtapes, but I wasn't expecting him to be giving us vocals on this track since normally when rap-line does vocals it's usually Hobi. I love how each member of the rap-line got a "don't need to talk the talk, just walk the walk tonight" moment throughout the song - it's so catchy! People acted soo entitled and self-centered. - Or “It doesn’t sound like BTS anymore.“ To put it another way, how can a group, who has constantly changed their sound, so media and people start calling it BTSpop, don‘t change? - “The old BTS sounded better“ - Their is no hard line between old and new BTS, because they evolved and changed over time: There was a hip hop based BTS, a rock-ish BTS (danger era), r‘n‘b-ish BTS, an edm phase, MOT7 where the experimented a lot with genres, retro and now pure 90s/2000 pop. I would see it more as a homage to the 70s/80s/90s with their 3 releases Dynamite/Butter/PTD. On top of that, I had an argument with people, who claimed that their quality declined, but couldn‘t even distinguish between producing and vocal engineering. It is annoying that everyone becomes a vocal/producing/songwriting/dancing/fashion/performance expert, when it comes to BTS and states their opinion as facts. The song is not my cup of tea, but I can still appreciate the message and their work, give some constructive criticism and just move on…. It is really not that hard.

From the 3 english tracks they have released until now, Butter is the one I prefer in terms of music sound. However, the more I watch the PTD MV, the more I understand this is (at least for me) the most meaningful one. I actually got very emotional a few times watching it yesterday. All this being said, I think them releasing all this fun, pure and happy songs is their way of coping with the situation they face in this period of uncertainty. They clearly can´t release the conceptual albums we are used to because those are thought as a full package, with performances in mind (I can´t assure this but I think this is how they worked in some of the past eras). "BE" was also a conceptual album but it was actually based on the pandemic experience so it was not created as an album to be performed. I truly believe they are doing the best music in this context. Also, these songs are a challenge for them. The language, the sound and even some of the coreos represent a new style for them so they are clearly evolving more and more. I really enjoyed the reaction and I´m happy you liked the song too.

Whether you love the song or not just appreciate the messages in the song, they worked so hard to release this on ARMY's birthday and because you didn't liked it and it wasn't what you wanted you threw the birthday cake they made for us in their faces and disrespected them with hateful comments.They may have saved a bunch of people lives with work just been in this music video. Korean lyrics force non-Korean speakers to look up the lyrics and read them. They have to actually pay attention to what's being said. If it's in English, native-English speakers aren't forced to really pay attention to what the song is actually saying. Not everyone, of course, but a good number of people are just dismissing the song because it's too happy and catchy. They aren't even looking for a message and assume that because it's so positive, then it must not be meaningful in any way.

I had the exact same reaction when Namjoon appeared, the highlighter hair and that freaking shirt! And then he started singing and I was so shook. Same with Hobi and Yoongi 😭. They all looked so good, all 7 of them, but Hobi, Joon and JK grabbed my attention the most 😂. This song makes me feel things that I haven't felt from BTS since I listened to Black Swan for the first time. No, it may not be dark or moody or meaningful, but at the end of a hard 2 years, it's exactly what I needed. I loved Dynamite, and I may have a few issues with Butter, but this song is perfect to me. It doesn't need to be complex or deep, but it touches me in a way I didn't know I needed. I love the diversity in the MV, and although the styling is not my cup of tea and had me cringing, I still applaud it for the message it conveys. I've been so hesitant to call myself ARMY because of bad past interactions with them, but I adore BTS's discography and love each member differently. This song made me go through a roller coaster of emotions since I first heard it (on iTunes, not with the MV), and I appreciate every single one it made me feel. I think I'm finally ready to say it... I've always been a multi with way too many groups under my belt. My ult is EXO, but I'm ARMY too. PTD will be one of my go-to tracks from now on, I just know it.

As I don't follow any social media, this is the first I've heard about people hating on the song What song did they expect? We knew before the release who the writers were. Unless they have hidden Korean language skills, we knew the song would be in English. Also it's being released on the Cream and Peaches single; how does Peaches suggest a deep and meaningful song? This fits perfectly with Butter for this concept. Do haters not like seeing the members happy and enjoying themselves? Personally it's my favorite of their all English songs. Liked Butter more than Dynamite, and this more than Butter. To me a totally '80's vibe. Loved the MV, so joyful and upbeat. Was the waitress at the beginning representing the young woman in the Tiny Tan animations? That is such a fun and light-hearted song, I love it. :-) Personally, there are BTS songs I like way more but there are others I like less, so... Everyone has their own preferences which is totally fine. For me it´s a perfect fit for my car playlist when driving. I can imagine just cruising and singing along~ My favourite scene in the mv is J-Hope´s part in the diner which transitions to Suga´s part. Though emo-cowboy JK and singing highlighter RM shook me as well. ;-) As for all the discussions: A big part of BTS´c charm and success is their ability to reinvent themselfs over and over again and to experiment. Each album is different with it´s own message and it´s own music style. Why shouldn´t they make a fun song when they want to in such stressfull times? Saying they are losing themselfs or their culture is like.... really???

I said the same thing right when the teaser first released, that Im pretty sure this was a teaser to their comeback tour next year, bc in the teaser Yoongi had a magazine/newspaper that said "2022 a new era" and in the MV and teaser there’s signs that all say different place’s around the world. Also according to "The Times" all summer festivals have been given the green light to go ahead and continue which makes me think BH decided on a tour next year bc of how packed and overbooked stuff will be the rest of this year…hence "2022 a new era".

I love this reaction - I was laughing the entire time and staying up way too late to watch the whole thing! Your reactions are so real and so true! I love this song and I think I like it better than Butter. The night it came out, I was dancing around the house. I saw how excited Suga was talking about this song on their vLive celebrating Butter on the Billboard Hot 100 and the fact that it only stayed at #1 for a week was quite disappointing. I think this song was a gift for ARMY and very much enjoyed it. I was so disappointed that they had to cancel their tour - I would have been in Orlando as well (I'm in Clearwater!). Thanks for doing this review. I was shocked the first time through and had to watch 2-3x. But I am getting used to being shocked googlie eyed The signs that they are doing are: **Hands alt ⬆️⬇️ on chest with thumbs up= joyful/happy **✌downwards towards palm and swing wrist back and forth=💃🕺dancing 💃 **✌upward = peace **walking fingers up arm=walk **✌touch index finger to outer eye with middle finger pointing out.(not down like posing for pictures) Then pull from eye towards who you are looking 👀= I see you/I'm watching you These are the ones sign language signs i saw immediately. I have some hearing loss and learned when I was young so I am glad to see BTS do something like this 💜 Bang Pd and Braun is front left in the group at the end.🤗💜 Thanks for a fantastic fun time💜
