BEST EXPLANATION: This isn't a love song. It's a song about temptation which is why they used a lot of biblical symbols in the video. The chorus "i want moremoremore" is about wanting more of the dark sinful desires. The guy kissed a statue of a fallen angel bec that's common symbolism for a deal w/the devil. And the tears & guy's face cracking at the end symbolized his loss of innocence after succumbing to temptation. BTS said that their Wings album is based on the book of Demian which is about temptation and how growing up means facing the darker side of life that most are protected from during childhood.

Bts' mvs are connected. Previous to the bst mv, they released 7 short films. The films and the bst mv are inspired by the book "demian". There's a bunch of theories that armys have come up with and you could probably react to a theory video. But first you should see the whole storyline. The order is: I need u mv(original version)(the lyrics to the song don't have anything to do with the story) Prologue (with eng subs) Run mv Young forever The 7 short films (with eng subs) Blood sweat and tears mv (the japanese version has a LOT of connections but you'll probably get copyrighted because the japanese label is more strict) The highlight reels

Well actually it has something to do with a girl but it doesn't mean that it's just for a girl.. BTS put alot of hidden meanings to their music videos and songs you know?, you'll get it if you will connect the story on each music video (I Need U, Prologue, Run, Young Forever and then connect it to the extended story which is the Highlight Reels) anyways, I'm saying that it has connection because that's what RM told in the interview from that show After School *"Each of the seven boys tells a specific story, and the combined music video tells the story of the pain and hardships of youth. The song by itself is about the dying relationship between two lovers. In the context of the music video, it is about the dying relationship between a young person and their, well, basically their youth, happiness, and even life. The common theme is that even though the boys have their own individual problems, they were able to forget them when together, having a good time."* THIS IS THE PLOT OF THE STORY FROM I NEED U TO YOUNG FOREVER. But as RM said, every viewer can have a different interpretation of the music or the music video because it depends on their mind so they wish to leave this open. You know those 'GIRLS' on Highlight Reels right? Yeah, I NEED U GIRL.

BTS has stated many times that their Wings concept is based on youth/boys falling into temptation and losing their innocence. In Wings/Blood Sweat & Tears, we will witness their fall & one interpretation of the different ways adulthood tempts the freshly matured. The video opens with everyone walking into the museum together, but everyone is paired up: J-Hope with V, Suga with Jimin, Rapmon with Jungkook. There are 7 members in BTS so the odd one out is Jin, who is seen walking away from everyone and towards a painting. Jin looks at the painting, titled The Fall of the Rebel Angels by Pieter Bruegel. We know that the angels of heaven fell because of direct rebellion against God by siding with Lucifer, who corrupted the angels by sinful temptations. This is a foreshadowing of the future events to come. Jin is the center focus of the music video and is the key symbol of tempted youth (which is ironic because he’s the oldest in BTS!) The next painting is seen behind Jungkook, who is dangling from a swing. It is The Lament of Icarus by Herbert James Draper. The story of Icarus is marked by its famous representation of a naïve boy whose innocent curiosity is his fatal flaw. He is given a pair of wax-held wings by his father Daedalus (an inventor/scientist) to fly, but he ignores his father’s warning to stay away from the Sun. He ultimately flies too close to the Sun and the wax holding his wings together melts, destroying his wings and leading to Icarus falling into the ocean below and drowning. Rap Monster is the one who melts the candle from which Jungkook licks the melted wax from. In the myth, although it is Icarus’ own ignorance that leads to his death, it is his father Daedalus who gives him the option of flying in the first place. So Rapmon would represent Daedaelus and Jungkook can be interpreted as Icarus. And then, J-Hope in front of Michelangelo’s Pieta, which shows the Virgin Mary holding the dead body of Jesus Christ following his crucifixion and removal from the cross. If you’ve listened to the Wings album you know that J-Hope’s solo song is titled “Mama” and is about his mom (there are also ties here to Demian). Later on, all of the members are seen gathering at a table in what reminds me of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci anyways, they’re seen all with a single apple on their plate. The apple is a famous symbol of sin in the biblical story of Adam and Eve where Eve eats the forbidden fruit from the Garden of Eden. Given that the apple is on their plate and they’re ready to eat, it is hinted that they’re all ready to commit to the sins of adulthood together by eating the apple together. Here we see more of the relationship between Jimin and Suga. Again, the apple is used as a symbol of sin (bonus: Jimin’s solo track “Lie” is also heavily influenced by the Adam and Eve story). We have V sitting on the ledge of a balcony (where he was seen in the beginning sitting at and looking up and down) and he looks back at you, cracks a mischievous grin, and jumps willingly. And in front of him is a big painting: Landscape with the Fall of Icarus, also by Bruegel. The painting shows a spectacular scenery of the sea, but when you look closely, you can see that there are a pair of legs struggling in the sea on the bottom righthand corner. That’s supposed to be Icarus after he falls. Throughout this video Jin has looked pretty conflicted; if you recall the beginning when he’s looking at the painting, he’s got a focused look as well as confused. Like he doesn’t really know why he’s drawn to it but he is. And remember when he was at the dinner table with everyone but he gets distracted by something? This struggle is resolved with this scene of Jin and his balloon. The balloon represents his innocent youth; he’s quite literally holding on to it. He’s not sure if he wants to let go. Then, later on, during the cut with Rap Monster’s narration, we see that Jin has finally let go of the balloon. The balloon is already out of frame when he reaches up towards it, possibly regretting his choice. Suga plays the organ and it is seen that all the boys in their respective pairs exit the museum, except Jin has stayed behind and V has noticed. Jin seems to be looking at/for something, and V shows up with yet another playful look and covers his eyes. When V removes his hands and Jin opens his eyes, a mysterious statue with large, black wings has appeared and looks like it’s ready to take off. So in the end, V, who’s been kind of elusive in the story, is revealed to have scars where wings are supposed to be. I believe this statue is V. The way the scenes cut support this theory, because as the cloth covering V is revealed Jin is approaching the statue, and as he kisses the statue the figure under the cloth with the scars on his back is revealed to be V. A kiss often means the sealing of a contract; this means that Jin has officially fallen and “signed a contract” with V the fallen angel and has lost his innocence. The correlation is pretty strong here. Given all of the biblical references and the way V jumps off the ledge earlier supports the idea that V is, indeed, the fallen angel that tempts Jin. V has turned his back quite literally and has also figuratively turned his back on Jin, who did not suspect V to be a tempter.

First you have to understand the progression in the albums where this connects to. Their previous album was called HYYH (A chinese abbreviation for "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life", and the repackage was Young Forever), and it was mainly about being young, the troubles of youth, problems of young generations & just having fun & etc. Meanwhile, this MV is from the album WINGS, ehich came after that. It's about when the youth is exposed to the "evil" of the world. The MV is based off of a book called Demian, from Herman Hesse back in 1911. You'll often see the color green in the video, being consumed (a member licks it off his finger, another drinks it off his cup), it represents the "sin". It's like when the youth "grows up" and becomes consumed with the corruption of the world, the other side that isn't all good. So you'll notice the MV was very sensual, representative of lust, and there was also the guy smoking (which isn't really a sin but it.. yeah I guess you could understand that it's only something adults would do) So when Jin kisses the angel statue (which represents Taehyung, who was the topless guy who seemed to have his wings ripped off), it was like a "contract with the devil". Often you'll see scenes of them covering their eyes, and it attributes to being "blind" for only seeing half of what the world was. But when they get consumed by the "sin" or the "evil", they remove the blindfold, and can see the world in its entirety, both the good and the bad. That's why when Jimin removes his blindfold, his tears are green, and the angel statue also cries green tears. At the end, when Jin looks at his reflection after the "contract with the devil", his reflection cracks. Because the way he used to see himself, and how he thought he used to be, is no longer the same person staring back at him in his reflection. He was now a different person. This is only a summary but I hope you check out other theory videos because they go into more detail & it's really interesting. There's also the painting in the background of when Taehyung jumps off the balcony, that painting is of the Fall of Icarus, which is the story of the boy (Icarus) who made wings for himself, using wax, feathers & etc. He was able to fly, but he ended flyig way too high and eventually cloaer to the sun that the wax in his wings melted & he fell.

JUST A HEADS UP I JUST GOT THIS FROM GOOGLE Jin is Sinclair from the book, Demian by Hermann Hesse. V is the devil. Sinclair makes a deal with the devil and seals it with a kiss. So technically Jin symbolically kiss V. A large part of Sinclair's(JIN) growing up is his coming to accept that it is all right to enjoy things from the realm of darkness, things one might refer to as evil. That in order to be free he must pursue his soul's innermost desires-that is to say, he must exercise his will. This is one of the major themes of Demian and one which derives from Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche's book, Beyond Good and Evil.so basically this song is based on a novel Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth is a Bildungsroman by Hermann Hesse, first published in 1919; a prologue was added in 1960.

The painting you saw in the beginning was the art of where angels and demons are having a battle with each other. And then it shows two chandeliers on the floor that represent Jin and v who are the fallen angels. Technically everyone’s falling in temptation and Jin makes a deal with the devil by kissing him (which is v). He helped everyone end that temptation but he gets destroyed in the end.

This is all about temptation. Remember Fire and Save me MVs, it ended with a quote "boy meets what" and "boy meets evil" Jhope had a an MV for Boy Meets Evil and it really tells about temptation proven by lines "Too bad but it's too sweet" in the song. V their was Icarus, Icarus had wax wings and told by his father never to fly higher because the sun will burn his wings but he didn't listen and was tempted to go higher and he did, so his wax wings got melted and he fell. Then the apple that Jimin was holding represents temptation of Adam and Eve. Then the blindfold and the bleeding represents Oedipus, the king who unknowingly married his mother. Well this of course represents temptation of love. King Oedipus left Thebes as a blind beggar because he blinded himself by stabbing his eyes. The last scene (Jin facing the mirror while his reflection cracks) represents disrupted parallel worlds. This can be further explained if you will watch other MVs and specially the Blood Sweat and Tears Japanese ver. But all in all this is all about temptation.

Theres a lot of symbolism and references behind this mv. Like the book demian:the story of emil sinclair's youth, and the paintings, one of them was the fall of icarus which was also portrayed by one with the wings scar in his back. Rm said they were trying to portray the confusion one faces in transition to adulthood. Their albums from hyyh to love yourself, they have always told a story about coming of age, the struggles and beauty of youth to adulthood

BTS' brand is about the growing youth and this particular MV tackles more about the conflict and temptation the youth faces you have to understand the book of damien (this book is about coming of age or finding oneself) to clearly interpret this video. This band delve into philosophy, humanities, arts and many more. Their MVs are always connected as it tackles as what i've mentioned the growing youth.

so a long ass explanation from my thoughts about it so: his MV is said to be connected to the book Damian by Hermann Hesse, a book where a young boy is struggling between two worlds; an illusion world (basically connecting with a spirit, most likely the devil) and the real world, In the beginning of the MV, we see them enter the museum. Yoongi appears to be riding a bike similar to that in the Fire MV. The camera panning over to Seokjin, we see a statue behind him, which to me appears to be a statue of Satan, but it could also reference to Mercurius or Hermes, which the black wings later in the video will come into play. These gods are the Roman Messenger of gods and the god of roads, both thieves or often committed interesting occult missions like guiding the souls to infernal regions and being intermediary to the underworld. The painting that Seokjin is immersed in is The Fall of Rebel Angels by Pieter Bruegal The Elder. This painting is a depiction of a subject taken from a passage from the Book of Revelation, which i think it shows good vs evil because of its depiction of rebel angels being driven from Heaven. Later we see the boys all in a purple room. The only one standing is Yoongi and behind him is a sign saying "The Tempter" which Namjoon also mentions later on but i'll come back to that. When it comes to the main dancing scene, in the middle of the museum, I noticed two statues behind Taehyung and Namjoon, which seems like statues of Satan (or the other gods mentioned before) and Mary and a bright light in between the two, which could signify purgatory; a place between heaven and hell, a place where said after death, you'll need to undergo purification before entering heaven. A scene involving Jungkook, he does a motion that may symbolise praying, which could tie into the whole purgatory symbolism, even if it said to be connected to Damien) A recurring theme seems to be blindness and blindfolding, it first happens with hands coving Jin's face. Then Jimin and Yoongi in a room, a door in between, the purgatory symbol again. The room is also darker than the museum iteself, meaning it could be them in purgatory. Jimin is holding an apple, Yoongi is holding a blindfold; the blinding folding symbol once again. It seems like they're exchanging their items, meaning Jimin is shielding himself from the truth(A reference to the short films leading up to this MV; Jimin was helped see the truth while biting into an a apple) The first hint to the fallen angel aspect to this MV and reference to the painting in the beginning is Taehyung on the balcony when he jumps off. All the boys run out of the museum, which could again be a reference to them entering heaven from purgatory. The only two members left are Seokjin and Taehyung. In that museum, we see the two statues again. In Damien, the God is named Abraxas, whom of which is both good and evil which makes sense for both statues to be in the museum, Mary represents Pure and Good and Satan represents Evil. Then another reference to blindfolding when Taehyung covers Seokjin's eyes, which then reveals a statue with black angel wings, of which he kisses. This reveals to the fact that Taehyung is actually a fallen angel; fallen angels are those who committed sins and lose their wings because they're not privileged to use them anymore. Taehyung lost them when he murdered his father (a reference to another MV; I NEED U) This marks the first sin he has committed in his life. With Seokjin kissing the statue, this is his choice to stay in purgatory for the time being. "He too was a tempter. He too was a link to the other second, the evil in which I no longer wanted to have anything to do with" is Namjoon's verse, which I mentioned before, the reference to "The Tempter" sign behind Yoongi in the beginning. When the statue beings to cry bright paint, it could symbolise that Seokjin was supposed to follow the other members and leave, but was lured by the Tempter, Taehyung. With Seokjin cracking in the end, this could be him turning into a fallen angel or another creature. ]

The whole album comes together. It’s called “Wings” the solos and Blood Sweat and tears is talking about Sinclair. Sinclair is a character from a book, and it’s basically about Them letting go of their innocence and childhood because it’s going into darkness. The reason why I’m the beginning of the music video it showed a dark room aka the dark Relam it’s because Sinclair was introduced to darkness. When Jungkook was swinging on a swing and eating a popsicle that symbolized childhood. Sinclair then made a “Friend” That was evil and in the music video Jin (the pink haired guy) is Sinclair and the rest of the members were his “Childhood turning dark” except for V (Blondie 🤣). In this video V was “The devil” and “temptation”. Sinclair was sort of captivated. Sinclair was somewhat cast into darkness and was encouraged by his “Friend” (V) which was the devil. You will then see that the members are kinda being blindfolded, or covered with something symbolizing that Sinclair was cast under that “spell”. When RM said “Haeteo was a tempter. Haeteo was a link to the second. [“An evil world in which I no longer wanted to have anything to do”]” (this came from the actual book, like actual lines from the book) Which means that Sinclair was realizing what was happening. And then (V) the “devil” or his “Friend” covered Sinclair’s eyes and he was cast again. He went up and kissed the statue and you will see V and his broken wings. Idk if this is relevant but in Jins solo he says “Maybe I can never fly” and I think it has something to do with V’s broken wings. Further BACK you will see Suga playing that instrument thing and that’s kinda symbolizing how Sinclair was still in the spell of darkness. With the kiss it somewhat canceled the spell idk how. But then you will see Jimin (guy w gray hair) taking off the blindfold which means that he then realized once again what he’d been put to and when Jin was “Broken” like literally his face was cracked at the end , it symbolized that Sinclair had been set free. I’m not really sure if this makes sense but many people including me have caught EXACT lines from the book in many songs from this album. Which tell the whole story. It’s actually a really good book and I just wanted to explain and point it out. I hope it was helpful and made sense! Btw love ur channel, I’m definately subscribing!

In the BTS world, fans are constantly guessing and given surprises. This MV is adapted from a book called Damien - the entire discography is based on Boys facing their inner temptations/demons and how it is different with one another and how some might be linked to others. There's more to it than just this vid. I believe other ARMYs hv written about the list of vids leading to this and the ones after this. Now BTS and ARMYs are entering a new era/chapter called Love Yourself and Her is the first of the 4 installment. We's just received updates from their Japan promo that the coming part is Face Yourself. To new ARMYs, welcome to BTS wormhole - you'll never get out of it!

Dear RT tv, the part where the statue started to bleed and cry and stuff and then where he started crying is referring back to the name of the song, "Blood Sweat and Tears". Also the lyrics would say "blood sweat and tears" and how "you can take my blood sweat and tears and my mind soul and body" and stuff like that. Meaning that she kind of "owns you"

VIDEO EXPLANATION - Y'ALL BETTER BRACE YOURSELVES FOR THIS: The video opens with everyone walking into the museum together, but everyone is paired up: J-Hope with V, Suga with Jimin, Rapmon with Jungkook. Jin is the center focus of the music video and is the key symbol of tempted youth. The next painting is seen behind Jungkook, who is dangling from a swing. Remember, at the beginning Rapmon is shown reading something to Jungkook, which would play into the Daedalus/Icarus relationship where the former educates and guides the latter. Rapmon is also the leader and Jungkook the maknae, which makes the relationship work. Later on, all of the members are seen gathering at a table in what reminds me of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci (The Last Supper tells the story of Jesus Christ and the distress amongst his Twelve Disciples after it was announced one of them would betray him). Anyways, they’re seen all with a single apple on their plate. The apple is a famous symbol of sin in the biblical story of Adam and Eve where Eve eats the forbidden fruit from the Garden of Eden. And the scenery of the set does look like some sort of garden. You can see that the boys are all raising their cups to pledge something, but what are they pledging to? Given that the apple is on their plate and they’re ready to eat, it is hinted that they’re all ready to commit to the sins of adulthood together by eating the apple together. Just as Jin is about to raise his cup/pledge it seems as if he heard something, like a voice calling to him. At this point we are not really sure what it means but it adds on to the idea of Jin falling to temptation because whatever it is that called to him has captured his attention. MAINLY ONLY RELATING TO THE FINAL SCENE: Throughout this video Jin has looked pretty conflicted; if you recall the beginning when he’s looking at the painting, he’s got a focused look that’s like “wow this is kind of cool??!” as well as confused. Like he doesn’t really know why he’s drawn to it but he is. And remember when he was at the dinner table with everyone but he gets distracted by something? My interpretation is that Jin is conflicted between wanting to stay blissful to the sweetness of youth, but he keeps getting distracted and enticed by “sinful callings.” This struggle is resolved with this scene of Jin and his balloon. Remember, everyone else has already given in to the different forms of enticement (Jimin with the apple, V with falling, Jungkook with the wax, etc.) Jin is the last one to fall.

From what I know, black wings symbolize evil. So, when jin kiss the statue his face cracked. Its mean, the evil take over him. This song tells about temptation. If you look out the lyrics, they said "more, more". Its mean whatever they have right now, they still feel aint enough. Money, wealth, everything.

This is based off of a longer storyline starting from their MV "I Need You" and ending with the HIghlight Reels basically telling of the coming of age. This song/mv is linked with the story "Demian" by Herman Hesse which is a coming of age tale of the loss of innocence. Like the story we see Jin who's the person on the precipice of adulthood and V who is Demian and Jin who is Sinclair. Throughout the MV you see some symbols that were present up until the conclusion that tells of the progressed storyline and when you watch "I Need U" and "Run" you will also see them: The House of Cards, The Butterfly, blue flowers, pictures, pills, an apple, and piano. All to some degree linking each person to the storyline as each person draws further out of their innocence. The rest you'll have to figure out on your own

I usually don't bother with subtitles on the first watch because it can be hard to pay attention to the visuals which can sometimes go by quickly while you're trying to read the subs. I wasn't into this video much at first, it was one of the first BTS videos I was introduced to and my reaction was more or less 'what the hell kind of freaky crotch-grabbing statue-kissing mess is this?' LMAO Luckily I saw other BTS videos and now I'm a huge fan, and when I finally learned the story behind this one (and how it connects to the stories behind their other video), I began to love it as well. I listen to this every day now, it's my jam. Great reaction, guys! Looking forward to more!
