The part that captivated me was when Jimin slowly covers his eyes and smirks before the first chorus. I'm not sure how I got snatched in three seconds through a screen, but it happened and I've been Jimin-biased ever since (even though I was in denial for awhile). It was alluring. It was hot. But I couldn't have cared less about the crotch grabbing and lip licking. I appreciated BST for it's aesthetics and only had a vague idea of what it meant for a long time. It's based on the novel Demian by Herman Hesse, btw. But tbh I don't enjoy any more or less now that I do know the meaning.

The kiss at the end with the statue is Jin falling from innocents to the temptation of sin into adulthood. Throughout the video 6 of the guys gave in to the temptation of sin. Jin was the last one to fall. He kept turning away from sin but at the end, he could not resist the temptation. The kiss was sealing the deal with the evil one. The concept for the video was innocence destroyed hence sexy dancing and staring sexily at the camera. They start off innocent but at the end temptation sets in. The crotch grab symbolizes this as well, and the covering of eyes also symbolizes being blinded by the world and loosing one's own self. They are no longer naive youth that's what the video becomes distorted and disorienting (the Japanese version is worse tho and more confusing. You can watch it as well) The book 'Demian' by Hermann Hesse was used for this concept. Hope it helps!

So the theme of this song and video is temptation in the pursuit of growth. The evidence that supports this: - The painting: The Fall of Rebel Angels - Seductive actions and poses (I.e. the act of tempting someone through sexual appeal) - Fallen angels - Kissing a fallen angel/devil - The Statue: Pietà by Michaelangelo And more examples, though it's hard to type them all on phone. This song, and album, are based off a German novel called "Demian" by Hermann Hesse. It is about growth and the transition from the pure innocence of youth to the corrupted mature stages of life. *Supporting evidence from the video:* The video is set in a museum, which as you know, where people study relics and pieces of art to further understand the era of the relic's time. This represents introspection (self reflection). The members act childish and what is considered inappropriate for their setting, representing their youth. The painting is the first symbol of reflection and temptation. The Fall of Rebel Angels shows angels being casted out of heaven for defying God. Which shows how youth become more self aware and ignore or rebel against authority at a certain point. The seductive scenes, such as Jungkook licking his finger or V biting his lips represent temptation. Humans naturally strive to better themselves, which can lead to giving into temptation. This is also represented in the German quote written on a wall, which translates to: "One must still have chaos in oneself, to give birth to a dancing star." Which basically means that in order to improve, one cannot be satisfied with their current state. When Jin kisses the fallen angel (or Devil) this signifies that he has given into temptation, destroying the morals and innocence you hold in your youth. Such as the Pietà shattering (the statue of Virgin Mary, holding Jesus after his crucifixion), where Mary is the epitome of virtue. Another symbol for the loss of youth and innocence is when Jin let's go of the balloon (an objective associated with children and happpines). *Disclaimer:* This is one interpretation and can easily be interpreted in another way, such as toxic relationships.

Loved the reaction, as always and I do understand your point of view on the crotch grabbing, but in their earlier videos they did even more stuff like that. Of course the boys don't make their own choreography (besides J Hope who is included in some) so they dont get to decide, what dance routine they're going to have for each song. I think the management really wanted to get the most attention with it and that's exactly what happened. BS&T was their first song to enter the Billboard chats and was a huge deal for them. That one of the reasons, why we requested it so much.

Not sure if anyone commented on it but when the boys watched the video for the first time and saw Jimin’s shoulder jacket slip they all applauded and cheered him on. RM commented that Jimin must’ve practiced that hundreds of times but Jimin denied it saying it was an accident. The painting Jin was lost in was a painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder and the pairing is called “The Fall of the Rebel Angels” and the things in the painting are also partly beastly and half human and half demons, more or so known as monsters.

Actually it might really possibly help if you fully understood the concept of storyline to this MV. First off there is the heavy influence of the novel by Hermann Hesse "Demian" which is basically about a youth struggling with good or bad influences as well as good or bad choices being made while going from puberty to adulthood. RM even quotes directly from the book when all is suddenly silent with the red backdrop. In the book Sinclair is heavily influenced by a new friend he becomes quite close to named Demian who may have a good or bad corrupt influence on him depending on how you look at It! Blood Sweat & Tears is basically about adolescents going into adulthood and the choices one makes. The "crotch-grabbing" to me sort of represents going into adulthood or puberty where you might be now influenced differently or be more aware of human sensuality and sexuality temptations and needs that you may now experience going into adulthood.

The whole mv is inspired by a novel about damien. You can search army theories about this mv if you want 😊 Also, thanks for reacting to this!

Yes It was Jin (oldest) that kissed the statue which symbolized the fallen angel that V plays! Simple concept is that it’s about rebellious fallen angel that tries to convince Jin to follow him and he falls victim by V convincing him at the end....*scene where Jin begins to crack like the statue*

😱I've been waiting for this! I just had to like and comment first before watching, because I know it's gonna be 🔥.

And there's a bunch of theories on this but I think it's mostly about temptation (whether a male or female, drugs, evil...) And trying to say no but end up saying yes. -as soon as everyone got to the museum, they were already "infected" or under the spell. But Jin (painting guy) wasn't, he was curious but didn't fall for it. Bla bla bla, RM says stuff from a book called Demian (I think that's how it's spelled) and has something to do with this theme (idk haven't read it). But towards the end, Jin embraces the evil (by kissing the statue). V (guy looks like wings were taken off) was representing the evil. He saw that he wasn't exiting as fast as the others, he was hesitant. He comes from behind and covers his eyes, shows him the evil in a beautiful form (fallen angel). When Jin embraces it, he smiles because he finally got Jin under his spell. Everything is kinda chaotic towards the end (colours from ppl and statues, breaking/cracking, the ppl are showing their embrace) and Jin notices it and starts falling apart like the statue. Ps I've read that in epiphany, there's a theory that maybe Jin regrets kissing the statue PPS I'm sorry for writing so much and for not leaving it under the same comment lol. I'll do that next time 😁

The message is about a young boy falling into temptation, it was based of a book named "Demian" which is about a boy's journey through life, struggling between two worlds, the world of illusion and the real world battling both good and evil within his own heart with a realization of self at the end, hence the "Love yourself" series that are a follow up the this video and album, it shows how they overcome their own struggles and now are on a journey of loving themselves. The video was supposed to be sensual and sexual to represent the temptations.

The whole album was about temptation and issues that youth go through. You still need to do the story line and Wings solo songs and teaser to understand. Behind the scenes would also be helpful. Ok, there's a whole rabbit hole to go into but it's worth it at the end, especially Fake Love.

This is the first song i ever listened to by them and omg i didn't know any of their names but i could figure out some faces. And freaking jungkook got me captivated from the start from when he showed up. And that dance move he did where he was moving his hands to the front of his face and that smirk he did, had me dead. Something u guys can do is follow the theories to bts there’s this theorist on KZfaq and the channel is called Theory Thursday I follow all the bts stories and her theory is that all of their music videos are linked since the beginning it’s honestly so incredible I 100% recommend this channel for bts theories but you’ll have to start from the beginning

It's ok everyone has trouble with understanding this video, even Armys that have been here a long time. There are references that you don't get because you need to watch ALL the mvs before this in the storyline not just 1 or 2. Even then u might not get everything. The way they dress, lyrics, items, choreography, and location all have clues in them (in all mvs). Nothing is ever random or a mistake. The song is basically talking about temptation and wanting someone/something that's probably what the crotch grabbing and chest rubbing is about, not just because they want to please the girls. And they don't have to TRY to be sexy/attractive they ARE even just standing still lol

If you like hip hop, you should react or check out BTS American Hustle Life reality show. It has 8 episodes, each episodes has 4 or 5 parts each, this show is about hip hop boot camp where they had tutors with Coolio, Warren G, dancers, vocal coach Iris Stevenson from Sister Acts 2 and they also live with Tony Jones and Nate (I didn’t catch his last name but you might recognize him). This show filmed in 2014 a year after their debut. This show are the ones in my opinion that has changed them, taught them and made them rise to the top. I’m surprised a lot of people missed out BTS American Hustle Life. I suggest to watch this because with coolio and warren g they have learned a lot about hip hop.

haha I feel you it took me a week of watching BTS non stop to figure them out, it drove me crazy. I feel like Jimin Jhope and RM are the easiest to regognize but Jin, V and JK were so hard for me ^^ so I went on blogs and watch videos on "how to recognize BTS members" and I remember reading stuff like "it's easy Jin has more plumped lips than Jungkook"... totally not helpful XD goodluck!

Okay will confirm the video was inspired by the book Damien by Hermann Hess, it is about sins & temptation etc. Now as for V/JK, here is some tips, v has more of an oval shape and skinnier and not always in the centre, he also has a very deep voice. JK is usually in the centre, round face and thicker body shape as he works out. Do not go on looks of ages, as JK maybe the youngest but he is coming into adulthood now and V tends to look younger, he still has that cute babyface even when he looks serious. JK has a typical smile to him, high pitched voice, in usually at the front or centre with dancing.
