I love how wings era songs combined there real life story’s, struggle and problems with the ones there characters in the story line have. Like Hobi is literally singing about his life and what a huge impact his mother had on his career, which is just already so emotional. But also we see his character that probably is also fitting some of the lines, like the possible lost of his mom and how he imagines things as a mentally unstable person.

None of your raps could ever sound the same, and yet you retain the signature characteristics that generate your sound with each one. You have such a playful sound, but also know how to emote in a way that reflects some of your most vulnerable moments. How you manage to capture the classic sound of old school hip hop and rap and combine with a more modernized style is beyond me. Your voice connects the past with the present and even creates a new future because you hold so much together at once. I don’t believe I’d ever come across somebody with such a versatile voice before you. This is actually a pretty literal piece of art. As you can see on the prescription, it says that their plan on dosing him was with placebo. Placebo is like a fake pill used to 'treat' patients who believe they have issues but actually don't. When he took it, he saw illusions. In his song he literally said that his mother was the placebo. So in these terms his mother made him see the world in a different way, it made him think outside of the box. (You can see him coming out of the room and that the room appears to be a box.) When he looked into the outside world from the 'box', it looked like he was in the forest, but when he opened the door, it just appeared to be a painting. These could represent J-Hope's problem solving skills. His problems appearing to be hard, but once you think outside of the box, it seems like nothing. Him eating the snickers and the pills falling out of his pocket can represent his mother's sweet love for him that he gladly took (the snickers). Once he ate it, a smile appeared on his face. Idk, this is just my idea on it. I'm only 12 so I probably got it wrong haha

theory: Hoesok's mother left him when he was young, at a carnival, with only a snickers bar (in Fake Love mv, you can see carnival rides, etc), so he was traumatized, and the event affected him, because he's in mental room, since he has "Munchausen Syndrome'' ("meaning a mental health problem in which a caregiver makes up or causes an illness or injury"). But usually it's treated with therapy, so the pills were probably anti-depressant pills, and the amount that spilled out either means that he keeps taking pills and overdosing (which explain why he collapsed in I need you) or it shows how depressed he is, since his mother left him. Like at 1:06, you can see he sees a wall, or the mental room is now covered in paint, so the pill hides him from reality(?) *Also did any of you guys see the wings at **1:19**? Just want to make sure if I'm the only one or not ;-;* Like Jimin in the Lie short film, it's like he's sort of running from the truth, so at 1:21, you can see feathers flying, which would be from a pillow, like when Jimin also thrashed his pillow in the air to believe that Hoesok was still there. And at 1:38, he fainted because he was overwhelmed (or he just overdosed, but idk). 1:46, you see he wakes up, which is when Jungkook called 'Hyung!' in the Begin Short Film, I think because Jungkook was trying to make all of them happy, so he called him out so he could wake up, and when Hoesok walked out of the room, he was looking at the painting, and took a bite of the snickers his mother gave him. And he smiles at what is shown on the painting, because he's been hiding from the truth the whole time, because he was scared of it, but the snickers showed him that his mom really loved him.

An in-depth theory of MAMA. The series of short films in the wings album were inspired by the novel called Demian. In MAMA, J-Hope is seen within his “egg” surrounded by all-white cushioned walls-like a mental hospital-indicating to the viewer that he is not mentally well. A physician diagnoses him with Munchausen Syndrome, an emotional disease caused by trauma or sickness that can make an individual crave attention so much to the point that they are able to fake a real illness. The only cure for this disease is either consultation or medication. In the film, J-Hope is bombarded with many pills and an image of a cocktail made of medication is shown. The pills go from being a cure to the drug that becomes the catalyst for his insanity. After taking a pill, the chaos from within is released, represented in the form of the neon paint that is splattered around the room. With that, the process of growing up begins. His “wings” are then shown and he passes out from being overwhelmed. He awakens and stares lovingly at the painting from LIE (connecting him to his Sinclair, Jimin) which resembles the Garden of Eden. The garden symbolizes Eve or Eva, the embodiment of motherhood within Demian. Within the novel, Frau Eva comforts Sinclair with chocolate and in the film J-Hope is seen biting into a piece of chocolate as well. This gives him the strength to listen to himself and mature. theory: Ok here me out kids In #1, at 1:46 jungkook says “hyung” In #2 at 1:46 Jimin looks up as if he heard something In #3 at 1:46 V falls to ground In #4 at 1:46 Suga nearly gets hit by a car In #5 at 1:46 RM covers his ears In #6 at 1:46 J-hope wakes up from his dream In #7 at 1:46 Jin picks up the flowers that were on his bed so my theory is that because at 1:46 Jungkook called out for Hyung, at that exact same time in every video the person shows that they heard it or something. Theorists, work with that.

I am new ARMY, and have only been through this album once so far. I am so impressed by the detail in the entire body of work of BTS!

what if each video is a separate chapter of the book? 1. #BEGIN: jungkook - "beatrice" (in this chapter sinclair painted portrait just like jungkook in his video) 2. #LIE: jimin - "two realms" (in this chapter it was the first time when sinclair lied, and lies has been associated with apples) 3. #STIGMA: taehyung - "cain" (in this chapter, we look at the cain's story from another viewpoint. taehyung killed his father, but we still can justify it. however, murder can not be forgiven. two sides of the person) 4. #FIRSTLOVE: yoongi - "the bird fights its way out of the egg" (here sinclair meets pistorius, who played a musical instrument, and loved watching on fire with the boy. connect it with yoongi) 5. #REFLECTION: namjoon - "jacob wrestling" (in this chapter, the main character eats the ashes and fall asleep like namjoon in his video) 6. #MAMA: hoseok - "eva" (i think it needs no explanation, we all got it) so, there are in the book two unused chapters: "among thieves" and "the end begins". what if bighit gonna upload two videos, not one? the first one with jin and the next one with all of them together.

Oh Hobi, they really put alot of thought into the promotions for this album. I love the song MAMA and the intention was so sweet to dedicate the first solo song to his mom. I know he had boy meets evil but I mean when they were working on this project and had to pick key words to work into the concept, he chose MOM.....insta tears
