it’s true, BTS are 7 men equally talented as well as hardworking & that’s how they succeeded. i really recommend suga’s talk show “suchwita”. the latest episode is with j-hope and they talk a bit about this, it’s really good and will give you more info about their beginnings!! take care 💜

I remember when I first started listening to BTS how surprised I was that they all had solo songs on the BTS albums and that they all had solo performances when they toured too. Each member has to be able to hold their own and their styles are different when they perform by themselves. BTS is the only kpop group where all members have charted as soloists on the billboard hot 100. I think that's what makes BTS so special is that they are all individually talented and unique so when they do sing and perform together it's really something special. I was a big fan of NSYNC back in the day and I would dare to say people thought JC had a better voice than Justin. But you're right when it came to NSYNC JC and Justin had probably over 90 percent of the lead vocals. I don't think it was his age that was the issue (he was probably 28 at the time) I just don't think his solo music really made an impression. I really don't know what happened.

The genius of this combination of artists is that the threat of one’s solo career tanking the entire group doesn’t exist. There’s not a Beyoncé or Timberlake anchoring this group who’s solo efforts would obliterate another members gifts and efforts. Each has a forte (or several) that can carry their own solo careers whether that is acting, singing, dancing, directing, writing, composing or producing. And what’s beautiful about these guys is how they are willing to offer their gifts working in the background of each other’s solo projects. The success of one is not a threat to the others. ❤

they sing a few songs on tiny desk concert where theyre sitting down (mostly). they also do a more laid back performance on their b-side songs, and japanese songs. i would recommend Stay Gold and Your Eyes Tell which are japanese.

Fun conversation. Part of JK's job as main vocalist was to make a guide of the song singing all the parts, which the members would be listening to as they were learning the song/recording. So they could hear exactly when they had to come in. He also recorded most of the background choruses in layer upon layer of harmonies, which is also part of the recording of the instruments.

BTS are all very talented . Some may not want to hear this, but there’s a lot of Kpop groups and some with a lot of members in it that if you watch closely a bunch of them are just what I call “ fillers”. Not a strong rapper (but their role in the group is a rapper ) or vocalist (but the voice is mediocre- just someone who can carry a tune but the voice is not quality ) . Maybe only a few of the members really stand out or you can say can really go solo. Not so with BTS. They are all strong in their given roles and then some . And when theirs voices blend together ? It’s so good!They don’t try to compete with each other that’s why the transitions in their voices is so clean and sometimes you can’t tell in some songs who’s voice it is because their voices just blends so well and a lot of times they sounds so angelic. Not just screaming or belting all the time , doing all these vocal calisthenics to show off their vocal prowess.

I do not know what decides where they sit, but if you watch their other performances, they are all different. Watch their covers of Fix you, I’ll be missing you, (both sitting) live performances of their Japanese songs, (often sitting) etc. I enjoy that you appreciate their talent and hard work. Although, Aich usually looks like he would rather be somewhere else. Unless a rapper or V are on of course. 🤗 lol!

BTS is one of, if not the strongest vocal line in kpop and non of them sang before joining BTS and that´s really crazy. Suga talked about it in the sucwitha episode with jin. in other groups you do have a few members who dont do much on their own. BTS did solo songs from wings era and on every full album going forward. and the rapline has done solo songs before debut. and they also sang live and that is not normal in kpop at least not the first 5 years or so. But the rappers pushed the vocalists to sing live no matter what even when they dance and that´s very hard. but jin was surprised at how good he became after just one tour.

Ahh there is this tale that when they recorded "Fire" part when they sing "Fireeee" you literally hear only Suga, they told that they wanted to do this part all together but every time they listen to recording they only heard him so they leave it like that and literally you hear only him in this part, like his voice even when he try do it quieter it still was his on front, but it was like 7-8 years ago, now are different times, but it is funny story. They actually mostly hold mics in rap way, but they were siting dawn so it is different more chill and you ate rather sure you don't drop it.

I am so surprised you react to this performance. This is one of my favourite but I don't see many reactors watch this or getting recommendation to watch this performance which puzzled me because to me this is one of the best Life Goes On live. And I agree about you saying they don't meddle/ outshine each other, every members has their own expertise and they respect each other tht's why they are strong as a group.
