I became an army in 2016 and I was with them every step of the way ever since. I remember that none of us, BTS and Army, expected the scale to get larger and larger and then even larger. Around 2017/18 there was this frantic, euphoric but almost desperate need to show these boys to everyone, to prove that they deserve to be seen an heard, and we gave it our all everytime, despite many barriers and setbacks. I think I was so happy and excited about all their achievements and their impact that it took me until much later to realize how scary this time must have been for BTS. How uncertain and terrifying it must've been to climb to such heights without anyone to lead you. They always do this thing where they don't reveal their hardship to us until it has already passed. Because they don't want us to suffer with them. It's always within their music and their lyrics where you can find their true emotions. I'm very thankful for this Album Proof, because it's both a celebration of their entire journey and an acknowledgement of their growth as musicians and as human beings. I can't wait for what's yet to come💜

BTS “debuted” for me in October 2021. I’ve known of their existence almost the whole time, but K-pop was not at all my thing until 2019 when my mom introduced me to it and BTS. Actually, the only member I knew of from BTS for all those years before was Jimin lol. My mom’s bias is Tae, so she introduced Singularity to me, and I loved it. Cut to 2021, I discovered J Hope on my own listening to his mixtape (not knowing who he was), asked my mom and she told me. That made me more impressed by them. I had a very bad time in 2021, and I needed a laugh. I discovered the BTS rabbit hole of “crack” content and that made me want to know all their names. I discovered all of their music, and their lyrics helped me get through those bad times. While I’m super late and this is my first comeback, I don’t regret it one bit. I’m glad to have discovered them when I did. Now I will always support them.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Its been an year of me being their ARMY now. I'm proud of myself that I found them myself. I saw their 2018 UN speech and was so moved by RM's thoughts and checked them, listened to dynamite, ptd, butter, my universe, boy with luv first and I swear I loved that time, I used to Jam to their songs whole day (now is same but those initial days hits different). Tried to learn their names, identity them in edited compilation videos and that's how I fell in the rabbit hole which seems like a mini universe, a heaven to me. I miss my OT7🌌

I have been an army since 2020. I know I am pretty late. But haven't left their side ever since. Their songs changed my perspective towards life so much. FINALLY!!! I'm a 2015 army, this journey with them has been amazing and will be. There is something about them that feels real and makes me feel alive in every momnt of my life. through all these years they've become my strength, also my weakness and my family who can comfort me in my lowest times. though we knew the boys had immense talent and are intensely hardworking, we did'nt know what was coming up for us next. it's astonishing thinking about them winning their first daesang back in the day which they've worked hard for and were well deserved. from the first music show win to the WHITE HOUSE, they've come a long way. it gives me immense pleasure that the boys, to whom i've spent my high school and college days listening to, are now at the greatest heights and it gives me confidence too that hardwork doesn't go in vain and motivates me to work hard to achieve my goal.

It was noticeable that BTS were trying their hardest to smile in the videos during the pandemic. Tho they looked tired they still smiled and worked so hard non-stop. I’m glad that now they are finally able to look back and say ‘it shall pass’. I glad they are okay now. I’m glad they are able to perform in front of people because they are born to be on stage.

I became army in Feb 2020. I came across BTS playlist while i was exploring new music on Spotify. No one around me knew kpop back then so i had no idea who BTS were. But today i have so many army friends in real life as well as online army friends. Im so happy to have known BTS. I experienced change in my personality that even others point out. My becoming an ARMY story: I watched the Billboard Music Awards almost every year anyway. The first time I officially saw them was when they performed Fake Love. I couldn't see their faces properly. So I was more focused on the dance. I thought the dance was cool. I was intrigued that everyone knew to sing along to a song that wasn't in English. I must have brush that performance to the side apparently because I didn't remember that I had seen them that year before when the next year at the BBMAs came. This time when I saw them, I remember the camera always panning to them and the audience screaming a lot and I got really annoyed about that. The reason being it was during Janet Jackson being there and performing! I was agitated at the audience not them. So when it was finally their turn to perform. I said to myself ("let me see what this group is about"). I remember watching it thinking that the song was ok (I didn't care about the choreography at the time). I saw Jimin (didn't know his name then) look into the camera at the beginning smiling etc. I remember saying to myself he must be the cute one because he was looking all into the camera. ( Just saying to myself "Oh he think he's cute") Now mind you, he had sunglasses on so I couldn't truly see his face properly until later down the line. (I will like to tell me in the pass, Yes he is cute and you will see that). I made a mental note to keep them in mind because I feel like they were the new popular thing that must be on the rise. Fast forward and I one day hear this song called Dynamite on one of my kids tablets at work and they are singing along and I go and find it online and it's them. I said "oh so they do make English music as well" I definitely kept them in mind and on the radar even more because I had kinda wanted to hear something in English in a way. When MTV Unplug hit, I saw the Advertisement and I wanted to see it base off of Dynamite and the idea that they were bringing MTV Unplug back again after so long. Some of my favorite MTV Unplug albums are Maxwell and Mariah Carey's records. So I saw that performance and I remember the first Korean song that touch me was Blue and Grey. I remember thinking all the music I heard was actually pretty good and surprise to find out that they wrote their own songs too. (Example being when they explain V wrote the song Blue & Grey). And I of course waited for Dynamite lol. I re-watch that whole MTV Unplug performance a few times and decided then and there to look more into them. Butter came along as well and I started to try and learn their names and so forth, and become an ARMY. Once I got to know about them and see their work ethic. I realize how amazing they are as people, how talented they are and how great their music is. This is my weird time frame of #MyBTSStory 😄
