Guys the line in the song about ‘if you can’t fly, then run…” is from a speech by that late, great Martin Luther King Jr. where he said: “ if you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk then crawl. But, whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” This is one of the reasons I love BTS so much; their lyrics are so deep & meaningful.

Love watching these. Jungkook leaves a pause before the first “Ready, aim, fire”, you can hear the crowd belting it out and then going quiet, and Jungkook then delivers it with gusto. Gives me goosebumps every time.🙅♂️🙅♀️

I also kind of see this as a message about literally "living another day". But I haven't seen too many people comment on this possible aspect of the lyrics. When I started thinking of it that way, it made me like the song even more.

Hey guys, so glad you got to this one and enjoyed it, it is one of my favourite songs and definitely my favourite MV of theirs. You know with BTS that set was real, they find some amazing places, the ice block was also real (they were really cold while filming the MV). Their latest song "Permission to Dance", they built the whole thing from scratch in the middle of nowhere.

This is my favorite pump up fight song. One of my hopeful wish is that they play this song at the Super Bowl finals game. That would be an unforgettable experience. I would probably jump out of my couch shouting and do my own mini victory dance!😄🙅💜

It was filmed at an open pit stone mining site. It was extremely cold, especially in the evening as they filmed. Their perfection, talent, and professionalism really shine throughout this whole video. Seeing it LIVE is beyond memorable. Borahae Army 💜🙌✌️

Random but the Naruto references keep bringing me back to when the guys did karaoke and they all were hyped up singing a song from the Naruto anime. Plus one of my favorite suga pics is when he dressed up as Naruto. Somone probably mentioned it already but the guys love anime & manga too. That run episode when they were in a manga cafe was fun too.

Nice to see you both! Going into battle is right - excuse the nerdiness, but this song always reminds me of Lord of the Rings, specifically Aragon's speech before the final battle: "A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight!" 💜

🙅🏻♀️🙅♂️ Love you guys! I do want to say that Not Today and almost all BTS songs are about more than just one thing. They exist on levels. They are filled with symbols that can be interpreted in multiple ways like all great art & literature. I think it’s a huge mistake and one which will limit your understanding of the depth of BTS to limit e.g. Baepsae to only symbolize the younger generation, though that is certainly one interpretation. They use the small bird throughout their works to symbolize more than one thing. It can symbolize oppressed peoples. It can symbolize injustice. It can symbolize any group in society that is marginalized. It can symbolize corruption within politics & its effect on the common person. They often use the Baepsae symbolism when they’re talking about the inequities of class in societies. I know some ARMYs say that a song is about this one thing or that one thing. But as a Lit Major who studied their lyrics for five years, I really would love it if you would always allow yourself to let their songs be about more than one thing at once. 💫🌎💫

Not to say they're not extra lol, but i think I've also seen them refer to that "extra" as like an extra in a movie. So someone in the background becoming extraordinary, I suppose. 🤷🏽♀️🙅🏽♀️
