In their bangtantv episode about this event, they showed a rehearsal where Jimin was like “the camerawork seems really disorganized” and the boys were talking about how they didn’t know where to perform to because the camera was all over the place. And well... they were right. The camera work is absolute chaos and really doesn’t do the performance justice at all. But still proud of the boys!

I think they didn't know how to record it because singing/dancing acts aren't common like this in America. But that doesn't excuse that the director did a terrible job and showed the crowd way too much. They had more than one practice session with the guys so the director should have figured something better out. The director or whoever was in charge should have done a better job, it was their debut performance for crying out loud. Thankfully shows and other award shows seem to know how to film them.

@@channelname1982 No they don't. That entire track was produced. You can literally hear it in the vocals how it's tweaked with little warbles, effects, and other production. No one can sing that perfect, let alone while they're jumping around and spinning across the floor. It is surreal for me to watch this performance knowing I was in the room with BTS and ARMY on this night. I still remember the energy of the crowd. I still remember seeing the members walk into the theatre. I remember my parents standing next to me screaming those fanchants at the top of their lungs with me. The person who made it possible for us to be there, my mother, passed away last year. I watch this and think of her and how beautiful the night was. I still have a photo of me and both my parents from this night. I can't believe five years have come and gone. I can't believe how much has changed since then. But I am so happy and proud to be a fan of BTS. They are a once in a lifetime sort of group, and I'm so happy I was able to be part of a little piece of their journey. November 19th, 2017 was one of the most beautiful nights of my life, and I pray that I'll be able to meet these extraordinary men someday. And I cherish the memories their music helped create, especially those involving my mom. I miss her so much, but I know she's watching over me and she's watching over Seokjin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook too. She loved all of them just as I do. They'll always be special to me. God bless BTS always. 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜

That's because koreans have become to expect the audience loving it and it gets boring while americans usually dont have choreography and even when it does the angles changes are mostly to keep the viewer interested and the reactions refresh the mind from staring at the performer

FOR REAL the audio on the mics is trash and since there’s a clear distinction between the back track and the live vocals you can Tell that they’re singing practically the whole time...the AMAs may have f-ed up their performance but while doing so they proved how talented bts is lol

To anyone saying they are disappointed in the fanchants: PLEASE watch the fancams! They were so so loud! They were just muted on TV because otherwise you wouldn't have heard the song! And the illusion of delay in the chanting is due to the size of the arena, ARMYs didn't do it wrong! They were so amazing and passionate! THANK YOU SO MUCH to all ARMYs at the venue!! YOU DID SO GREAT!!!!

this is actually because the recording comes straight from the mics. any cheering in the crowd is what’s being picked up by the mic feed, which actually means the fanchants were hella fuckin loud. don’t worry fam

If you look at Fancams Suga said Lets go Lets go near the end, its almost not audible here, proving AMAS put official audio over their ACTUAL singing to make it seem like their lip syncing. if you look at fan cams the audio IS SO SO MUCH BETTER. i swear amas did SOMETHING.
