You’re right hobi doesn’t have actual lines in Spring Day it’s mostly him harmonising in the studio version but he does the intro and a few lines in the latter part of the song in their live performances. Also I agree BTS in this setting with a live band is always a special experience (and yes it’s the same band they work with on their tours)

You TOTALLY gotta check them out! Their discography is massive so there's definitely a song you might like. Their roots is in hip hop, but they've dabble in other genres and have progressed and evolved as artists since their debut in 2013. What kind of mood are you in? ARMY can certainly recommend some songs. #ARMYsince2014 💜

At this point of Bts' career, I actually don't think about there's a "main" or "sub" vocals anymore😆... The vocal line are just THE vocalists & all of them are incredibly different from each other but blends well with each other. I mean, I think Bts also think the same. They have so much talent & they trust each other so much. All of them also have incredible range... like, ugh, I can't even explain anymore😆 They're just all incredible... The same with the rapline.

@@annemayseyfried8907 @Amanda Heimbach Just so you know also, Suga also wrote the lyrics of Spring Day. Not just RM. This is from their interview for TWIST magazine and this is what Suga said- SUGA: "Spring Day." I wrote main lyrics based on my personal experience with old friends. It is about my sad memories with him and it makes me sentimental whenever I listen to the song." no offense but I really hate it when some ARMYs don't credit Suga in writing Spring Day because they only know of RM's VLive explaining he wrote "The leaves are falling" and turned it to "snow is falling" and "I miss you" part in the chorus. BTS has colour coordinated mics....some of them have changed colours a few times or changed from shiny metal to crystals etc but for the most part they stay the same and many also have matching in ears. You can't learn their names from hair colour but you can learn their names by mic colour because that doesn't change very often. You may notice it more when you listen to more live performances. On the note of them speakingvEnglish one day recently I turned off the subtitles on a video because my brain thought it was understanding them talk in Korean and didnt need them and they were in the way....and then I realised I couldn't understand them without the subtitles...hopefully one day I will learn enough Korean I can watch them without the subtitles.

Returning to this concert after a while today. It’s one of my favorites. Are they all not the coolest, the way they speak, sing and rap, and jam...immerse themselves in music and connect...the messages they share...the fashion! Looking back, I feel like there was so much of the emotion that they wanted to bottle as gift for us during Covid, condensed and gushing out in an intimate setting. Deepest and warmest thoughts and feelings and desires, let out in a controlled fashion of 7 talented artists working together to give us a special production. It’s true, we think of BTS’ fantastic stages, but I guess this production makes sense, because of their talent and continuous improvements, and also their signature connection with the fans and with each other, which are their great strength and what make them soar above the ordinary. And you’re right, I didn’t feel it back then, but now that I’m exposed to them daily, it does feel like the language is truly a second thought. That’s pretty amazing, that barriers disappear naturally...with BTS.

In the original video for "Spring Day" RM does the opening verse and the rap line, I think Hobi sings the middle part as he does here. But when they performed it live right after it debuted in 2017 Hobi was singing the first verse. Not sure why they did that. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7OZhc6jm7i8e6M.html (BTW I think this Tiny Desk Concert version is the best version there is. The slowed down tempo and stripped down instruments let all the voices come through. And it shows why Jin is the most under-appreciated vocalist.)

believe me when i say bts perform deliver such great vocals in their concerts on tour consistently, in awards shows and stuff there is always a backup track that distracts from it but in concerts you can barely hear it, their vocals come through so clear during the bangbangcon marathon in april i was shocked by how good the performances were from back all the way to 2015 (there was a 2014 concert but i had my nap halfway through the 12 hours during it lol), they have always been so stable and consistent during their concerts and they always have a live band which makes the songs sound amazing, i think it’s the same band from the tiny desk but not sure so yeah while they sound great here, it’s far from the first time and it is what makes their concerts so amazing

not to make you feel bad or directed, this is just a noticeable thing in the ARMY, people tend to overlook JK's input and hard work saying he is already good or doesn't need more praise just because everyone knows he is perfect, which is a thing that Jungkook strongly disagrees. he doesn't like the label of being perfect at everything, which is true, he is not. he works very hard to be this amazing, and take extra time in the studio for guide vocals, background vocals n adlibs. he is a human too, and he also needs appreciation. thank you for pointing this out. this concert is just beautiful and one of my favorite 2020 moments and i don't know how many times i watched it. the vocals, harmonizations are just perfect and make me emotional esp Spring Day. great reaction✌

I want to say sth about jk the same thing happens with army. Because He is the main vocal but also because he is always amazing. He receives a lot of praise from media and gp Probably the most. And a lot of this fandom don’t feel the need to praise him cause they expect jk to be amazing just like you. It’s a natural thing that happens but it also explains why jk sets such high standards for himself bc he knows people expect the best from him and he can’t afford to slip up esp as main vocal and the responsibility or carries. He has opened up a few times about it bc people see him as this perfect individual but he doesn’t see himself that way and he is very much a perfectionist. He loves getting compliments and I hope people do take note of the fact that he is always amazing and praise that cause they pressure he has on himself is immense. Esp seeing what goes on behind scene. Thank you for pointing this out btw. I admire and respect how he is pure and gigantic talent but minus the matching ego, doesn’t ever need or crave for any compliment or personal ranking but is genuinely moved by the talents of others, so genuinely loves and lives for music. He is like that gutsy player who’s also the star on the team (though he never cares to act like one), always diving in for the ball with his natural confidence and delivering consistently for his team, while also working the hardest and continuing to improve. He is one person that’s not ever driven by fear but by his love, passion, and sense of adventure. These are some of my favorite things I see in JK. Also, it’s so clear that all the hyungs adore and care for him - while also respecting him. And it’s so clear that he adores, cares, and looks up to his hyungs. It’s so heart warming to see.

I have yet to see them in concert-still holding onto my ticket and living in eternal hope-but I’ve watched so many of the video releases and without a doubt, as much as I love their productions numbers, my favorites by far have always been the medleys. Those stripped down performances where they’re so clearly enjoying themselves and just letting loose are pure joy and show them at their finest. Tiny Desk was in that style too, even though it was more structured, but when you hear them in a setting like this, even if you’re not a fan, you can’t deny how incredibly talented they are. My only quibble with Tiny Desk was the inclusion of Save Me. It’s one of my top 10 BTS songs (always paired with I’m Fine) but the dance break is such an important component and without it, to have that extended instrumental in such a relatively short song, made it an odd choice, IMO. (YMMV, of course 😁.) Otherwise, this was really one for the ages.

This performance came out 3 months ago and it felt like the future still seemed kinda bleak and uncertain. Like we don’t know when the pandemic will look up in the America and it was just a scary time not knowing what the future will be post election (as it hadn’t happened yet). BTS was really what was getting us through this year. Anyway, I just wanted to note especially this performance of Spring Day, I really appreciate the parts that the guys were singing. Like, Jin’s voice was perfect for the parts he sings in this song. Same for V, JK, and Jimin. The back and forth was just beautiful and this build in this song was just so moving. I loved Suga’s part, Hobi’s, and RM’s. There’s a lot in the first two songs too, but anyway I love this concert. I had a lot of ideas of what I’d love for them to sing (as I did for past live performances), but BTS being who they are, always choose the songs meaningful for the times that we are in that we need to hear.

Probably not the strangest of things, but it is to me, I just searched for and started watching BTS’ tiny desk concert only a few minutes ago, it’s been ages since I watched it, and your notif just popped up, very weird coincidence 🤣

Hi, they are their most stunning when completely stripped back, it makes me so emotional. That's when you really get to see and hear each member the clearest and every single one of them shines. I always say watching them like this it is so much more than a great performance, it is an experience! Love your reactions, knew you'd enjoy this with the live band.

Late comment but: Their backing band always does accompany them, and is called Ghost. They have a minor fandom of their own since they always back BTS.

Just watched this after your BTS Room Live reaction! Yess, Taejin appreciation. Tho Tae has a deep voice, I think he's comfortable singing in a mid range like Jin. But among 4, it's Jin's voice w/c is mostly overlooked bec either he's doing the high with Jimin or mid range with Tae & Jk. Jimin has the highest pitch of them and has the unique vocal tone, Jk's amazing vocals w/c is hard to miss since he's the main vocalist & sings the most and Tae's baritone voice. But where's Jin? He did say in their BE interview, he has the most ambiguous range in the team thus always has to choose in between Jimin & Tae's ranges. Coz of that sometimes it's easy to mistake his voice for someone else coz he blends in so well.. It can mistakenly be heard as Jk or V (especially in their early years), and as time goes by, improving his vocal techniques, his voice now gets mistaken as Jimin's when doing high notes 😂 That's why in his solo songs, he gets greedy coz it makes him really shine and show off his voice 🤗😍

once again, i always love & appreciate the comments that you make and the things that you catch/notice. : ) like how jimin's singing style, from time-to-time, switches back to a little more of his original style from his current really unique tone/style. or how V and Jin's singing could be a little more overlooked in comparison to the rest of the vocal line (esp. from non-fans who might not know BTS too well). omg and even the vocal rasp from JK hahahaha it's like a mini catharsis when a reactor points out things that i noticed. (i mean there's no right or wrong but most reactors pointed out JK's high notes so it was cool how you commented on the rasp)

My favourite genre of music is band music and this is by far my favourite version of dynamite- as soon as I heard the bass sound(I mean for me bass is the single most important thing in any music there is) and the whole sound is much fuller- geez man, nothing ever beats live band, huh?

You know back in the days they did a full concert tour with just the band no backing track but still dancing and all. It was when people were still criticising them a lot and saying that they don't sing live and are not good singers. They blow everybody's mind. it is one of my favorite concert of all time to date. Incredible.

Check out their Korean Melon Music Awards performances, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 are amazing! 2019 is considered the best live performance in all of music history. Borahae 💜
