In the early 80's I was chainsaw felling trees behind a 528cat winch % chokers we were logging in over mature forest Fox Creek Alberta. Looks really easy sitting covertly in one these machine felling and bunching trees Very good operator Very well done video The down side is that we are stripping our Canadian forests to sell our lumber in over populated countries that do not have no respect for the environment

Thank You! We never make a mess on purpose to slow anyone down in the next phases. We have a very organized system of how we fall to minimize ground disturbance, keep it organized for skidding/chucking. We also 100% sort the spruce/pine and balsam into separate bunches and fall patches pointed in the best possible direction to the road for the best roadside processing and loading.

We do, idk where you get your information but I've already been logging stuff that the old boys were logging back in the day. Cut it down replant (old growth is a different story) but there is lots of regen and old forest that has 100 year cycle trees that's good for logging and replant
@Bornintheseat
@Bornintheseat 2 жыл бұрын
@@billbill7894 I fly over it all everyday. I fly the layout crews and I fly the treeplanters. I fly the foresters desperately looking for more wood and BCTS trying to conjure it out of thin air. Mills will be closing. Current BC forest practice code is broken and logging hasn't been sustainable since the pine beetle started.
@iiyyxxnn
@iiyyxxnn 2 жыл бұрын
@@billbill7894 unfortunately that's either a fantasy or more propaganda, the foresty leaves behind a total disgusting mess everywhere they go. There is little to no oversight. I've seen more oil left around when dirt biking than anyone would believe. All left to leak in our beautiful BC forests with no care for future generations. I have taken on myself to sabotage and terrorize the loggers with millions in damages in the hopes they leave but all in vein as they just move somewhere else.

Yes all four of our machines have the 340° wrists, but we have the stoppers off. 1 of the C models have the Tigercat stock 23” cut head and the other C model my dad upgraded and bought a 30” cut 5702 head from Lowen Equipment in Kamloops. It’s a beast of a head. Then the two new D models have the new Tigercat 5702-26 26” cut heads, same head as the regular 5702 with a bigger saw.

I know this is off topic, but a friends paraplegic daughter wants to know this. Actually now that she brought it up I'm curious too. I wear steel toe corks (spike sole logging boots) 12 hrs a day/6 days a week year round. Can you wear steel toe boots there (I know it'll be a bit uncomfortable at 1st), or is there a safety reason NOT to wear them?
@griggbaylee5808

These guys are running climate controlled cab machines,not allowing caulks in there , …outside sure, but up north we often just worn 70 below insulated boots, if it’s true steel toe , and not an plastic safety toe, you probably start noticing it at about -15 C and definitely at -25 C and below.
