So awesome to hear this from their pre-Fleetwood Mac, pre-bigtime days.

Lindsay and Stevie so amazing together

IDC how rough this early 1975 version sounds...It's raw and it showcases Lindsey & Stevie's great harmonies + a slide guitar solo. It improved infinitely w/Fleetwood Mac!

Although I generally prefer the perfected studio versions, I think it is the rawness in their voices and playing that I love here. Same with their early version of Rhiannon at a 1974 Alabama show (you can find it on YT). I think this is the Stevie and Lindsey I wish I could meet IRL. Struggling, perservering, hoping for the big break.

The car on the thumbnail, the Mercedes was Stevie's. She lent it to Walter Egan for the cover of Fundamental Roll! One of the greatest covers ever!

I'm going to send this to my one and only girlfriend today, which happens to be monday morning. I love her because the things that had to happen to bring us together are just too extraordinary to be a coincidence. And the words of this song couldn't be more perfect timing for our budding relationship.

@dwshill2 I don't know how anyone can forget such songs as "Rhiannon" and "Landslide". "Dreams" was the band's only #1 hit. Not only that, but she was sexy hot back in the day. :)

@1mediaguy was just talking about contributing to the bands entire 5 and a half decade history,,,youre right with the numbers/......just meant sheer volume as it relates to the catalog :)

@1mediaguy Thank You 1mediaguy. I was just gonna remove that DUMB comment, but I thought no let other people respond to "I;m still wonderin what she brought to the band" What a STUPID comment.Well your comment is right,and she was their focal point too.I love all her songs and her stage presence. Have a Happy Thanksgiving,Peace Rhainnonlynn1970:)

Suzy I have to correct you on the comment about no 1 hits in Fleetwood Mac. I think dreams penned by Nick's was in all actuality the groups only number 1 single but they had a lot of top 40 hits to chart.
@1mediaguy13 жыл бұрын
@rayredding72 Stevie wrote more Top 10 hits for Fleetwood Mac than anyone else in the band, including their only #1 US hit, "Dreams". Personally my favorite artist in the band is Lindsey. But by just sheer sales numbers, Stevie was the most successful songwriter for the band. Can't argue the numbers. They are what they are.

I have always thought of her as Rock Royalty, as she's a Rock Goddess...still... Can you imagine how much she's partied? Shit, most of us would be dead by now...just sayin'...

she is a major part of the song writing in the band,and she is the major focal point. you dont like her?

LB has songwriting credit for this song so I'm not sure what Christine has to do with it in terms of writing hits, or whatever the debate is here.
@1mediaguy13 жыл бұрын
Um...if you're talking about Stevie, she wrote more top 10 hits than anyone else in the band.
stevie Nick's was kind of like George Harrison in the same regard of songwriter. only so much of her input was allowed at first. Lennon/McCartney also tried to suppress Harrison's input which was kinda mean since Harrison in my opinion was the best songwriter of the three and was the first to release a solo record and a double one at that that was massively successful due to hits like my sweet Lord. it was George Harrisons time to shine and boy did he!!!!

Very similar story with Stevie, great comparison... I always felt like Fleetwood Mac treated Stevie like a silly little girl who wrote silly little songs. Boy did she show them!
@rayredding7213 жыл бұрын
@1mediaguy um......youre waaaay off on that one. She became the bands sweetheart, true. She's very talented but not the bands chief songwriter. U give me a choice between a Mac album and a Stevie solo record and Mac wins everytime

Christine wrote most of the hits!

Stevie was writing so many songs but they would only let average of 3 per album on, so she started recording her own. Even with that its reported she has a large vault of unheard recordings.

I'd say Peter Green was, and John McVie...Danny Kirwan, The Bobs, Christine McVie, of course Mick were the best and most valuable players in the band. In the case of two who still remain, actually three...

I don't think Stevie wrote more top 10 hits than Christine McVie, I maybe wrong but I recall Mick Fleetwood saying Christine Mcvie wrote the most #1 songs in the band!!

On this recording, Stevie was off-key when she came in at 0:43 but corrected it...temporarily. Their voices usually compliment each other but not in this recording.
