Tabletop review of the Buckmaster 184, survival knife, Black Oxide finish version. 12.5” inches overall. 7” inch cutting edge. Bead blasted, non-reflective, silver finish. All stainless steel construction. Hollow handle. Survival kit inside the handle. screw in, Grappling hook/Anchor pins. Compass. Military grade plastic & Nylon sheath. Nylon pouches for gear. Sharpening stone built into the sheath. HEAVY DUTY SURVIVAL KNIFE. These knives were made for the U.S. Navy. They were turned down because they were too heavy: 1 lb.- 10 oz. For just the knife! These are TANKS! These are the real deal RAMBO Knives.

😂, Ya I’ve been wanting a Buckmaster 184 since the 1980’s. They were just too expensive and I would end up buying something else. Eventually I bought the Rothco RAMSTER,… which is pretty nice but, This is what I really wanted. I finally got it and I have to say: It’s freaking awesome! It’s a THICK, HEAVY, BEAST! I love it.

I heard that it is likely going to happen within the next year or so,… for the 40th anniversary of these knives!

@@JoeDoomsday I hope so! I remember seeing them for sale in my teens and twenties but the spikes always made me think it wasn't a real knife. Once I actually figured out what it was, they were gone!

Awesome. I always wanted one of those mirror polished versions. I saw one with a copper handle that looked pretty nice. Maybe someday.

It's pretty much the same sheath as the M9 bayonet, which is made by multiple companies today and easy to find.

Its blade not enough hard(of course, almost rust free), the blade shape not so good, but it is a usable knife.. Strong enough, but nothing special.. I love it, but it is not a peak(far from the peak as a survival knife).. ;)

,… as far as these “Hollow Handle” survival knives go, it seems to be the best . It out performs the Kizlyar Supreme, and the Rothco Ramster, it’s is a tough stainless steel and it is THICK. I like it better than the Schrade hollow handle survival knife also. If You’re going to rely on a Hollow Handle Survival Knife,… this is One of the very best in my Opinion. I’d say it’s up there with a Randall. (Maybe better.)
