Very nicely done! Btw, last I heard, one mechanical difference between RQ2 and RQG is that you might not get all of the Illumination powers in one go. I think you only get one or two at first, and then you gain the other ones later, possibly with further annual rolls under the Illumination skills. I got this info from some online comments by Chaosium people, but this was when the Cults book was still being written so take it with a grain of salt...

This was VERY insightful! Thank you so much. From only what i read in the Sourcebook, it was pretty vague what it means beside some philosophical opposition to rune cults. And the 7 advantages are fascinating. I hope we get an update and guide on all this at one point in RQG (though I am sure of it, just when is the question). Also the Dorastor Book sounds fancy, already wondered how the place is now. Does this mean some Broos got illuminated and hence lost their teint, and that in this dark land? Sounds hopeful. (also doesnt surprise me that it was written by Ken Rolston heh) At first I was surprised that nyselar/lunar and dragons share the mystic side, but i guess it makes sense. now it makes me think that they dont draw an opposition, cause they are the opposition itself (oroborous) - they only hold themselves up high, meaning when they cling "low" (dragon magic etc), than they oppose their own illumination as we know. Hence they are locked in the loop until they "awake". they seek not "just" realising their place, but transcending it, while lunars want to "transform" it to the right place. rising up vs drawing (the moon) down? does that sound right?

Can we hope to see a review of Iconoclasts soon?
