This is the Gold medal bout in the Men's Epee event at the 2020 Westend Grand Prix in Budapest, Hungary. Yannick Borel of France is on the left and Yamada Masaru of Japan is on the right.

Outstanding bout. You don't see Borel lose too often. I do wish they had done a better job of showing the touches in slow motion.

L - Attack into Prep (arm not extended) R - reverse, remise R - short, shallow attack R - deep 4 into 8 and reverse jump R - 2 balestras as feint, real attack, remise R - AoP R - good timing + raw speed straight attack L - counter after opp's attack finished L - miss R- miss L - good timing AoP R - remise over head L - counter (accurate) R - remise R - 2 feints, then iShowSpeed L - good timing R - hold blade then commit, remise R - deep 4, let go remise

You don't see a lot of advance lunge in epee, because you will likely eat a counterattack on the advance. But Yamada gets away with it constantly. Fast legs help.
