Ajahn Brahm talks about the importance of trust in our personal lives and for the operation of a successful society. But most of us have trusted others and felt burned, and have given up on trust. Trust is a quality of great importance which we can develop and apply with wisdom.

I love Ajahn Brahms kind presence and words! I hope someday to be able to meet him. He has truly changed my life in last couple yrs when goin thru lots of health n life issues that had my spirit feeling broken. Now no matter what I'm going thru I can listen to his voice and feel comfort and interconnection from thousands of miles away. It a amazing! Through him I have found a new way of looking at the world. It's beautiful even when it a ugly. I must say though it's not large helpings of food that led to his belly I would be his slow metabolism, as monks don't eat all day lbvs. Yes we can find good even from disliked politicians, I believe that Trump will bring change not in his actions but in the reactions and future choices by rational Americans. I pray he scares us to better decisions in the future as his level of hatred is scary and should never be allowed again. We must live and care for the world not seperate and tear it apart. Ohhh can anyone imagine if he became a Buddhist?...! Oh how amazing and powerful that would be. He could really help so many.

for so many people it is far easier to give then to receive. For many it is hard to say thanks.

In one of the retreat conducted in KL, Malaysia many years ago, that was my second retreat with Ajahn, i think 2010, as i could't sleep well at night due to a lot of people snoring :) and also some people lied in the meditation hall and slept and snore.. so during interview i seek Ajahn's advice on how to escape from those "noise", Ajahn is always very kind, he told me he has a very good ear plug.. because sometimes in flight, he still can;t get away from the noise :) and he want to give me that earplug ..haha.. i was so overwhelmed and touched when he want to give me he only ear plug.. yet i didn't take it :), then he said, do you have any at home, i give you permission to go home and take one.. anywhere, i didn't go back and take, yet i was much better in the retreat after interview. Btw, i can make peace with the snore and etc.. can even sleep well and sound even someone snores :) .. just make peace and don't fight :)

Ajahn Brahm is a treasure for the world, with his humorous application of practical Buddhism, not text book bed side Buddhism, studying, but applied Buddhism. Thanks.

I know what it's like to run low in the idea department, so I thought since I so enjoyed this talk on the VALUE of trust, if I might request one on "LOYALTY?" I feel it is quite absent in our modern societies today and is key to having and maintaining TRUST.

Frustration and depression/anxiety are due to insufficient self esteem. Turning towards buddhism, spirituality or any other religion in the idea to renounce your ego is a pursuit destined to fail. An ego, in the mature and healthy sense, is precisely what these people have failed to attain. They dream of giving away that which they do not possess. Nobody can bypass the need for self esteem. Seek psychotherapy.

Such a negative comment, your ego seems to have got the better of you there. So few words on such a complex topic, not much help for anyone really.

I cannot be a passive observer to the fueling of passivity and evasion of the truth. The apparent good in religion in general and buddhism in particular is the same as the apparent good in the comfort of painkillers and alcohol and other substances meant to dull the pain and attempts to run from it. It does not treat the underlying psychological traumas, it merely advises passivity, escapism into reincarnation and other such mystic offerings with no certifiable foundation in reality. It does more bad than good in the long run. Life is beautiful and meant to be enjoyed, pain is not obligatory. You cannot run from your own mind, there are many ways to treat it and be truly happy

+Liviu XSA At least you explained it and i feel you. I just don't see the need to blow up someone else's spot when clearly many people take so much happiness from this. Not everyone has psychological traumas to deal with and our ego's find ways to justify wrong doings which is fuelled by a culture of instant gratification. Keep up the happiness but try not to undermine others happiness, I mean just look how happy they are. 👊

One man is painfree because he takes painkillers, another is free because he has rid himself of the disease altogether. We might both be happy, i was just throwing out a lifeline for anyone who finds he wants to try a cure, not just a treatment.

+Liviu XSA That is a fair statement for anyone with a mental ailment, but what about healthy minded people? I just don't see the need for a comment which undermines hope for so many people. The four noble truths stand strong in any circumstance, these truths are at the core of Buddhism and is what you must focus on; especially the noble eight fold path.
