Buddleia can cause a lot of damage. It's a huge problem here in Dublin, Ireland (at least in parts). I've had to repair a number of garden and shed walls over the years for clients, neighbours and my own garden wall recently. The roots can do massive damage and it's very hard to control.

Its a menace all over the UK - not uncommon to see neglected buildings pretty much wrecked by it.

There was buddleia on sale at the supermarcets all across country in Poland this year. I bought one, becouse it looks beautifull and attracts butterflies. I was not aware of what you said here. I might prune it correctly and burn the flowers, but if I forget to do it next year, or move to another place, then it could be a problem. Hmm.

There is no need to plant Buddleia in your garden. It is spreading along the railway lines of the UK and will reach your garden under its own power without you needing to help.
