People in 2022 aren't aware that Buddy had so many songs that influenced so many musicians. It's a real mind bender.

Buddy comes across as likable, polite, down-to-earth, and matter-of-fact in these rare interviews. Like his infectious laugh! He influenced a lot of the British invasion groups, and his music lives on. 🎸🎸🎵🎶🇬🇧🐨

In these interviews, Buddy seems like just a polite, respectful Texas kid, but he was really everything: a visionary, a rebel at times, wild onstage, yet quiet and pensive offstage. Above all, he was a musical genius.

He sounds like a normal, down to earth sort of fellow, not stuck on himself like musicians nowadays.

I love his adorable laugh. He has the calmest voice too. It’s sad to hear him talk about plane crashes though.

He was so beautiful inside and out and had such a gorgeous singing and normal voice, his laugh is just amazing :) and I just don't know why he had to be taken away from us at such a young age. He had so much ahead of him. His death truly saddens me, it really upsets me how when you type in his name the word 'death' comes after it on the first search, everywhere you go for Buddy his death is always mentioned and it is so so sad 😔 Rest In Peace Buddy I hope you're making hits in heaven ❣️

An interesting fact about Buddy that I just learned recently after my latest visit the Buddy Holly Center here in Lubbock. Buddy was planning to start his own recording studio in Lubbock. He had paid $5,500 as a down payment for some property here. It was to be called Prism Records. Business cards had already been made in Clovis, NM. He was going to use some of that property to build his parents a new home. He was also going to start a publishing house called Holly House. Here in Lubbock they are building The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences. It is going to be amazing and should be finished next year! A relatively new addition to the Buddy Holly Center is an original booth from the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa where Buddy, Ritchie, and the Big Bopper played their last concert on February 2, 1959. It's really rather sad to look at it and remember the tragedy that happened later. In regard to learning more about Buddy's life, I would suggest the music videos on KZfaq produced by Paul McCartney. They are called The Real Buddy Holly Story. The are excellent!

There's not many interviews with Buddy and it's sad. Especially now we learn all his master recording tapes are lost in the fire. Along with many other master tapes of other artists. The loss is incalculable.

Buddy was kinda right... Rock and Roll was dying in the late 50s and giving way to a bunch of teen idols. It wouldn’t be until the British Invasion in 1964 that Rock and Roll would make a huge comeback in America.

Loved his response to, will Rock n roll last? and that he would go with whatever the trend becomes. I think it reflects how motivated, flexible and confident he was. Pretty darn amazing. Oh, and his saying he hopes the trends a little slower...wow...what? and Oh boy!

It feels really weird listening to Buddy and Allan Freed ironically talking about flying airplanes in the first interview, when Buddy actually died in a plane crash... :( So sad... Poor Buddy... :( I love his laugh by the way! 😊❤️

Just watched The Buddy Holly Story again. I'm sure it plays fast and loose with the facts but it's still a great movie with Gary Busey's amazing performance. If he didn't get an Academy Award he certainly deserved it. Buddy's passing mentioning of a crashed helicopter can't help sent chills up the spine in light of his own life cut short. One can only speculate how he might have evolved as a musician as the music radically changed over the decades.

He sounds so young. His singing voice was magical. Listening to him speak in longer stretches like in these interviews allows for the realization of just how young he truly was back then. I know - 20 years old at the time of his passing (I think I am remembering correctly) - but hearing this ... it's a little jarring.
