Ooh-wee-ooh, I look just like Buddy Holly...Ok maybe not, but we can all agree Buddy Holly's music and legacy are timeless. And the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, TX is the best place to discover more about the man behind the dark rimmed glasses.
Buddy Holly was an early pioneer of mid-1950s rock and roll as we know it. Unfortunately, the world lost him early in life on that fateful day known as "The Day the Music Died" on February 3, 1959. His life may have been short, but his legacy still lives on.

I have been a fan since 1958. My wife and I visited Lubbock in 1959 and went to the B H Centre in Sept. To celebrate Buddy’s birthday. We met his brothers Larry and Travis and also Larry Welbourn who was also there. Magical experience. From there we went to Clovis. Not to be forgotten.

I'd love to visit Lubbock one day, I'm from England and he was such a massive influence on many, many British bands/artists from The Beatles/Rolling stones to artists of today...And most likely, tomorrow.

It’s so amazing to see how far he’s inspired people and been heard around the world. My hometown is Lubbock and dudes fly live here and it sounds so crazy for someone from England wanting to come to Lubbock. Pretty cool

@@asylumrain I'd seriously love to visit Lubbock, I know what you mean about it being crazy that people want to visit, I live in Stretford Manchester, our famous musician is Morrissey of The Smiths, we regularly have tourists from the United States visiting our humble city, I think, you've come all this way....For this?!!! Then I think about the "mystical" places I'd like to visit, which to the locals, would seem a little bit crazy...That's the power of music.

It would be so nice now to just thumb through the collective works of BH, RV, TBB, from their careers had they not died. What would would Buddy be doing in 1969? And Jimi Hendrix died in 1970 at 27, the day he died Ritchie would still be 28 years old that day, imagine what he would have done had he lived. And The Big Bopper was an excellent song writer, most people don't know he wrote "White Lightening" he may have ruled the industry by the mid seventies. The music didn't die the day the music died, but it's forward march did for all of them. It's the same thing with Hendrix, even Bruce Lee, oh what we missed, we'll never know. All of them cut short right at the beginning, we missed so much.
