You can revive alcohol markers by pulling off the nib and injecting (using a syringe with blunt needle, sold for crafts etc) rubbing alcohol into the pen, just a few drops, then re-inserting the nib. There are youtube videos about how to do this. It works, I've tried it with Sharpies; I've also done the same with Crayola markers and water. PS I love a bargain and seeing what inexpensive goodies are available. I also love hanging round The Works. PPS I've used the Pentel oil pastels a lot. They're a good basic pastel. When you first use them they seem to have a hard skin but get better with use. I have never been bothered by the smell, but it must wear off because mine don't smell anymore. These are the best student grade until you progress to something like the Mungyo premium (not their student line) or Sennelier. After this they are good to use as the first layer. The Boldmere oil pastels are duller, but can still be used for fun pieces. I've used them for quick sketches. If you are sensitive to smells, you probably won't like the turps that Cindy Cink uses and might be better off with watersoluble oil pastels or crayons, such as: Portfolio, Lyra Aquarelle, Neocolor II etc.

I have the Pentel oil pastels too and, yes, petrol smell! I love them, though. Another budget-friendly brand I really like is Manley.

The skintone markers that are a strange shade for people colouring,would be perfect for animals. Say, cats,dogs,horses or even in your million sloth book.

I hadn't seen your post on instagram about feeling poorly but as soon as you started talking on this video I thought "wow she doesn't sound like she feels good today." I hope you are doing better now. Congrats on getting to 1k subscribers! Your confidence has come such a long way from when I subscribed just a couple months ago, IMO. I really enjoy your videos. Those markers look to me from the package they might be geared more toward cartoon or anime type skin tons. My immediate thought was that they would be great for trees/wood textures. You probably know this but be careful with the odorless mineral spirits. I have no idea anymore who I got this tip from, but I got a tiny glass jar from Michael's or some craft store. I put 2 cotton balls in the bottom and poured just enough of the OMS in to wet the cotton balls. Now I just open it, touch whatever I'm using (cotton swab, tortillion, etc) onto the cotton balls and then close it right back up until I need to dip the tool in again. I can't wait to see what you do with the oil pastels!

Glad u r on the mend! I enjoyed this haul immensely and my favorite book was the flower and bee one. I’m curious how u get on with the Lumi pencils. I treated myself to the whole set at the start of the pandemic and find some of them to be scratchy. They work best for me in the Maria Trolle books.

Oh Lucy, who knew being poorly could be so expensive (in Britain while we still have an NHS, that is!) I am so pleased to hear you got a negative Covid result, that must have made you feel better in itself and congratulations on reaching the 1K subbie milestone! Back to all your goodies, it is so dangerous going anywhere near The Works if you need that therapy! Their Boldmere range does seem to throw up some good quality items, and for a few pounds a pop, it is worth trying something new. I've got those Pentel oil pastels, I picked them up for 40 pence at our local dump Reuse Shop. They'd been sitting outside, so I didn't really notice much of a smell. I need to find something to practice backgrounds with them! I also agree with you about the Art Nouveau Greyscale; some wonderful images to colour. Anyway, enjoy your goodies and a speedy recovery from the lurgy!
