In this video we start the rebuild of our 265 small block chevy from the 1956 Bel Air. This is being done to show that this can be done at home without any expensive specialty tools. Unfortunately, one big mishap has put us a few steps and a couple of dollars behind. Stick around to watch the engine that started it all come back to life!

Yeah, who knew these early small blocks used porcelain pistons. I think I’m going to make my own out of silly putty.

This is really cool to see, and cool to hear that they were designed to have regular people work on them. Did they really come with owner's manuals?!

Yup! They included a lot of technical information for owners to maintain and work on their own vehicle.
