How did this turn out? I’ll be leaving tomorrow to camp in a rental for a week

@@kylelohse8150 I spent 4 nights car camping in the back of a Nissan sentra. Waiehu beach park for a couple nights. Safeway near Kihei since it’s open 24 hours. I saw some cars parked near the main highway in Olowalu beach too, I didn’t stay there though. How’s your car camping trip so Far?

@@LostUndertheSky I only survived one night in the rental car. I had a tesla and even that wasn’t comfortable enough. I ended up staying at a cheap hostel for anyone interested in finding a cheap place to stay. There are 3 on the island

Yeah the campgrounds were all sold out when we got there as well. Apparently need to book way in advance. This was off the highway south of Lahaina and north of Olowalu. I don't recommend it though. The cars are non-stop all night long and the sound of the waves can be quite loud especially for me a light sleeper. Check out my part 2 of this trip just posted yesterday lol.

@@LaineyhulaAdventures I wouldn’t, other than the old leper colony there’s not much to see. They are not friendly like the rest of Hawaii, They hate tourists even though a large percentage of the population is on food stamps and desperately needs tourism. They don’t want you there and unlike Maui there’s very little adventure to be had not worth more than a day trip. I am going to Maui tomorrow and car camping with my wife and kids for two weeks. Any advice on the cheapest places to sleep in my car?

@@LaineyhulaAdventures we stayed right there at Ukumehame Beach Park for two weeks for free. No on bothered us. We rented a minivan bought a hammock and an air bed and got a pass to planet fitness to shower. We shopped at Costco so the entire trip was relatively inexpensive!
