Hi Sav! 😊 Our electricity bill jumped up from $150 to $250 😮. It's crazy how expensive it is to run your AC. It's only the beginning of the summer. Great job on saving $2k for your baby! ❤

I would just buy a mower. My niece has a tiny yard and she just weed eats the whole yard which only takes a few minutes. Electric always goes up in the summer. Mine was almost $60 this month when it is normally $50. But I am not home much. Hopefully the next months will be better for you.

I’m a pen and paper budgeter, too. I’d say get your own lawnmower. It will pay for itself in no time. AND you can add lawn care videos to your content😮

I’m confused about Bub - don’t you already have enough in there for the $2k slip? Also I definitely vote to buy a mower! It’s so easy and will save you in the long run. We have an electric one so we don’t have to deal with gas and I love it. You can maybe use $$ from your savings challenges if you don’t have enough to buy a mower in your lawn care envelope

I have the exact opposite problem you have when it comes to Lawn Care. I've always mowed my own lawn- which is big, uneven and hilly and a total pain in the butt. But I'm getting older and have bad knees, so I've been debating paying someone to do it for me. But if you have a small lawn, it's probably worth it for you to just get your own lawn mower and do it yourself. You'll save money in the long run and you'll be in control of when and how you want it done.

Try looking for a used lawn mower and edger. We put xeriscape and no longer needed ours so I bet there are other people like us who sell theirs after switching.

Our landscaper hates that we want him him to come every other week and says the longer grass takes longer to cut and is more difficult on their machinery. No idea if that is true. Right now they're coming every other week but I feel like they're going to drop us after this season. In a way, it's worth it to pay, especially if you can't take the heat. Which i can't either. Ours use a lawnmower, weed whacker and leaf blower, and it takes them about 12 minutes and the yard looks great after. No fuss, no lawn mower maintenance or blade sharpening. Pros and cons!

Does your electric and gas do budget billing? I love that option we had because it gives you more of a set amount and then one month you settle up. Depending on how much you’ve paid vs. your actual account amount you may not have a bill that month, pay less, or have to pay a little more to make the account 0. They use an average of your usage.

Love all your videos 💕 I recently started budgeting with cash envelopes and it's helping a lot. Unfortunately the **** is hitting the fan and we've had a lot of issues with things in our home breaking/needing fixing. And some really big things. It's very disheartening but we're just trying to push through it and hopefully be more prepared in the future (with using the cash envelopes).

Savannah do you have the options of a "budget" amount for electric?❤ Here in Pennsylvania we can opt to have this so our electric bill is the same every month. At the end of the year they audit the account and raise or lower the monthly budget amount accordingly.

I’d be pissed off with the yard guy too! No reason it should be the same price if it’s half the work and half the time. I think you’re smart to consider just buying a lawn mower and doing it yourself! I’m sure you could find a good sale!
