Join ol’ mate as he continues his 5,000km long journey Westwards as he inches his way closer and closer home. In this Episode, he has to cross one of the remotest regions in Australia as he traverses the Pedirka and Painted Deserts. He pops out at the other end only to find that this is just the beginning of his lonesome journey home where he still has to encounter 1,200km of dirt roads leading out of the Northern Territory and into Western Australia.
Grab ya gear; Lets go!

Your very first comment hits home more than some may realise. Every time I watch your videos some things pop into my head that I had forgotten about. One thing was the flies. The moment you stop they attack your eyes, nose and mouth looking for moisture. Then the dreaded bulldust. That stuff gets into everything sealed or not. It made me wonder how you would clean/service your bike and stuff after a ride like this. The spectacular vision from the drone leaves one with the feeling of solitude and the question..."how do people live there". Thanks again Steve.

Add my "another great video!" and "thanks" to the many others already here Steve. Also wanted to say the commentary, editing, music and camera work are all superb. Looking forward to the next chapter. It's reassuring to hear someone else's R1200GS rattling like a kerosene tin full of rocks as you roll in for a fuel stop. I've done 65,000 km on mine in 3 years and I still wonder "is that noise normal??" but the big Boxer engine just keeps running without missing a beat. Bob

I admire your courage traveling where you travel on your own, even if there are other travels out there, but by push bike 8:50 is hard to understand . I have never wanted to travel that country east of the Stuart h/way back to far west Qld ; just sweet bugga all out there imo 16:00 water leak : another lesson for the grasshoppers in any vehicle in that country ; never have all your water in one (big) bottle and even tank . Just for interest; I have a number of (10 or more) mouth wash type of bottles (Aldi). Takes a while to clear taste/smell them out but for emergency water they are great until then ; and they never leak at the caps so they just float around the wagon .

@mongreldogproductions
@mongreldogproductions Ай бұрын
@@whatstrue1481 36 front and 42 rear…sounds like a lot and it is. Manufacturers specs. The bike has tyre pressure sensors and if you run the tyres +/- 10% the alarm starts to flash and give you the ships. The rims are soft and vulnerable to damage if you hit something hard so the high pressures can prevent that. Thanks for watching.

@@mongreldogproductions I can adjust my low tyre pressure sensors. I set them where I want and if the pressures drop below these settings then I get a warning. Hi Eddie, tyres are always a compromise depending on how far I have to travel. Not too many bike shops out there. For this trip home, I chose Motoz Tractionator Adventure for the rear and Motoz Rallz for the front. I needed a rear tyre that would give me 7-8,000km. If the trip was shorter (< 5,000km) i would lean toward as big block knobby, TKC 80 or similar. If the trip was longer (> 8,000km) i would lean toward Tactionator GPS or Hiendenau.
