How is it deep?
@lucyk.5163
@lucyk.5163 Жыл бұрын
@@Yahnart They mean that having a sibling since you were born doesn't make you good at making friends and socializing, because you never had to try to gain someone else's attention or interest, build up trust, etc. They were there since forever for you, and most likely accept you fairly unconditionally. But I don't know. I'm not sure I agree a 100% with the argument. Because having a sibling teaches you to share, teaches you that you can't always have it your way, you gotta respect when the other sibling doesn't wanna share a toy or food or play with you, so there is a level of socializing. Even for birds, when you're an only child, that's truly when you don't know how to make friends and socialize. I know that because I have budgies, and my first one was an only child at first. When I got my second one a few months later, he REALLY didn't know how to socialize. He didn't like to share my attention, food, toys, nothing. To this day they are more like colleagues than friends. They don't even sleep close to each other nor preen each other. They also don't play together, each of them will get something to do and do it by themselves, separately.
@michalrzmichalrz6656
@michalrzmichalrz6656 Жыл бұрын
@@Yahnart On one side, a firm bond between living things comes naturally, even when there is no capacity to consciously develop it. On the other, the ability to connect seems to slowly fade with age and has to be re-discovered.
@DoveJS
@DoveJS Жыл бұрын
@@lucyk.5163 You're right but I wonder if 1) it's possible to socialize them yourself since you're presumably the only role model that your birds have and 2) it's also possible they just weren't ever going to be friends because they are naturally incompatible (for example, some siblings become fast friends while others never do.) That's not meant as a criticism btw; I'm just thinking how human children rely on their parents and other caregivers to help them learn friendship before going to daycare/school! I suspect it's relatively similar for other animals even if it's obviously not exactly the same.

I think this would be like every animal. Babies look cute so that predators dont want to harm them. Sometimes it works. Also birds are living in swarms, so taking care of each other ones is common sense to them. Especially with body hygene and sorting out bad feathers.

The best part is that you can tell the baby is enjoying this immensely, which means that not only are the budgies bonding with the parrot, but the parrot is bonding with the budgies, so they are basically accepting *each other* as, friends and, well, FAMILY. And since the green parrot is a juvenile, if I am not completely mistaken, it's going to imprint a bit on the budgies, and they, seeing is as a baby, will imprint on it.
