Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is in critical condition Monday night in Cincinnati. The second-year safety collapsed after making a tackle during a first quarter play against the Bengals. He was taken to UC Medical Center by ambulance. The rest of the game was postponed.

Good lord I don't even really know what to say. I'm from cincy and I've barely heard of Damar before tonight, but I've been crying for this guy since I really realized what happened. I can't do much but pray for him and hope he can make it through this. God bless Damar Hamlin.

My entire family is back in Buffalo and it didn’t come out right in your text that you had never heard of them does that even really matter?? I’m not trying to come at you. I am so emotionally invested in what I witnessed on live tv tonight. As a mother of a 24 year old son who played football in HS, my heart is breaking for this young man. I never heard of Damar Hamlin until tonight. I just happen to be talking with my son in his room as he was watching the game. It was devastating.But not my first time seeing something like this. I also witnessed Hank Gathers collapsing on the court during a basketball game, many years ago. Its never easy .Fans will be traumatized just as much as the team. I've been praying for hours for this young man to pull through. Its a good sign to hear his vitals are back to normal. Thank God. Let's keep praying. 🙏

He's a fantastic young man. Have followed him since he played at Pitt. Great young man, on and off the field. I'm a Steelers fan, but have always had an affinity for the Bills, being in a working class city like Pittsburgh, so when the Steelers didn't get Damar Hamlin, I was ecstatic he went to Buffalo. Prayers for he, his family and his Buffalo family.

If anyone is wondering, he took a Blunt force trauma to his chest causing his heart to go into Cardiac Arrest. Very Rare hit. Praying for his recovery. Praying from Reynoldsburg Ohio! Hits home for me because my Dad at 42 collapsed during a basketball game and due to good help from his other player friends he lived. My brother at 32 collapsed and found out he had myopathy and eventually passed while doing yard work just this past June 2020 from that same younger diagnosis while he was a football player. His Mom??!! I pray for her too!

The news said he went into full cardiac arrest on the field but doctors and paramedics on the field were able to restart his heartbeat. Praying he has a full recovery! The NFL showed real class by suspending play and delaying the rest of the game to a later date.

Why is this same thing happening to so players? 13:44 There's been other football players, basketball players, soccer players have had the same thing happen to them. These are obviously very physically fit, young people, yet they are collapsing, unable to breath, having serious heart issues. Poor Damar, he was just doing his job and playing to his best and that hard hit stopped his heart. I thought of my son when he played as a youth. This could happen to any one of our children. omg if it was 10 minutes, thats not good. i had a friend whose brother was hit in the chest with a basketball in gym and stopped his heart. it stopped for too long so he had minor brain damage. he had to relearn EVERYTHING. prayers 🙏

If he had 10 minutes of this on the field and they held him there until his mother got there, he is mostly brain dead by this point. He is in a ventilator and kept alive that way. They wasted valuable time on the field and in the tunnel. Critical mistakes.

I fear the worst because if you’re neurologically intact after resuscitation, you get up and walk home. I’ve never seen anyone get chest compressions for over 10 minutes and recover.
