What an incredible story, orchestrated by a very wild, untamable God who Loves His Creation! This post has buoyed my faith in these times of much needed Faith and endurance. And even came as an answer to my daily prayer, "Father show me your Love, reveal yourself to me." And speaking of orchestration, I had no intention of watching this, but it just came into my view and I clicked on it.🤔☺ I am almost 69 years old and so these were my peeps, so to see that at least two of them became believers in the Lord Jesus has made my day! At 22 I was a lost young woman walking along a college campus, when some students came and shared the Gospel with me. I was defiant and angry, and this self styled God cursing "atheist" let them have a piece of my mind. That night I went home and I said once again and defiantly, "Ok God if your real, and this Jesus is real show me." And just like to the thief on the cross, He welcomed me into His Kingdom. So if your searching out there, just ask, please just ask, and see if He will not reveal Himself to you. @@danjestic9199 I'm glad you think so. I think their debut album was one of the finest rock debuts ever. I wanted more after hearing it. I thought it a shame when the band broke up, leaving only the three records, but it was better than fading away with mediocre material. I got to see BS two days after buying that disc...54 years ago.

Buffalo Springfield played after receiving the award and Bruce just stood there on stage. No bass. Nothing. He looked silly.

famously walked off mid set during the 70 tour that eventually became 4 way street---walked off the concert in Chicago at the Auditorium. Walked away from a couple marriages too. Guess Geniuses are like that, dont have much use for real relationships---for him "its ALL about the Music"...like being a junkie.

Was at the Chicago Auditorium show. He kept complaining about all the pot smoke wafting over him while he played on the piano. We're like, ya it's the 70's and we're at a Neil Young concert! Another $3.50 down the drain

Why do they deserve it? Only three albums and two hits.

Actually, Steven said that it was written about both. He inititially started writing it for "the guys on the line" in Vietnam and then one evening when he was driving down the Sunset Strip, he encountered the famous police riot and used that as additional inspiration to finish the song.

I believe Fortunate Son was expressly written for Vietnam movies when the shit got real. For What It’s Worth was written before and after going through when the shit gets real. White Rabbit was written for recovering from everything. Hello, I Love You was for the brothel scenes when the GI’s hooked up with whores.

Two years late in seeing this! Althoguh I think he's mellowed out a bit in later years, Stills was obviously a difficult guy a lot of the time. Richie is famously easygoing and positive in addition to being genuine. I'm sure a personality like Steve's benefits greatly from the non-musical aspects of Richie's personality! Glad they are still able to maintain that friendship nearly 60 years later!

It is a great album. It's one of the few "greatest hits" albums that I own alongside the actual studio albums. It's track sequence is an album all it's own.

Mr. Martin I am so sorry how you were treated after your sacrifice for us. I'm a child of the 60s. Was born in 1969 and I am a college professor and neuroscientist. I spend much time educating my students about how awful Veterans were treated after Vietnam. It was a disgrace. Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our country. I loved the music of Buffalo Springfield. In the 80s and early 90,s, my Generation, Gen X, learned about what happened by your own generation and what a disgrace they were. Thank you again. And I am glad you survived. You have my gratitude!

Unfortunately too many of us from the protest side of that generation had no Idea what you and your brothers went through. Me, being from a family defined by military service (I have a second or third generation ancestor who was in George Washington's personal guard at Valley Forge and my first ancestor here fought in the Narragansett Wars-in short many in my family served), I had a different view. Many of my friends from HS died or were wounded in Vietnam and having been lied to myself by more than one recruiter, I did protest but never showed the stupidity of animus to returning soldiers. Many of us actually wanted you home and out of harm's way. Those of us who thought about it knew you had no choice but to obey orders once you were there. I'm sorry you went through that.

I was an anti vietnam war protester. I wanted our military out of vietman. I was anti war, NOT anti soldiers. Ive never met anyone who was against our soldiers or treated them badly when thry came home. I know alot of vietnam vets, husband being one. None were spat on. Very sad and wrong it happened to anyone

And Ahmet Ertegun, who I think signed them. And while that two years passed, they worked a grueling performance and touring schedule, paying the same dues that any band in LA at that time had to, just to keep themselves in the game. An awful lot of pressure, and one little misstep such as with money and or management and a band could be yesterday's news, as soon as tomorrow.

@@dean7454 It's about making a commitment and then backing out after everyone else was invested in seeing it happen. And it's about not just doing this once or twice, but many times, both to BS and to Stills individually (when Neil just decided to stop showing up, without warning, at booked "Still-Young Band" concerts in the 70s). And it happened to these guys again after this, most recently a couple years ago. It's not about Neil Young being the most talented musician in this group -- I personally think he is myself. It's about taking advantage of the fact that you are so talented so you can do inconsiderate shit to the people whom you called friends (and even wife) ... over and over and over again. Because you can get away with it. Neil Young is one of my favorite musical artists of all time, but he's a failure as a human being. Oh the irony of how critical and unforgiving he is of his own father, for sins not half as bad or frequent as his own.

Couldn't agree more. I've made very similar postings myself about Neil, who is my favorite musical artist of all time. Letting people down seems to be a consistent pattern in his professional life. I remember reading about his "Stills-Young Band" abandonment in Rolling Stone in mid tour, he supposedly sent a telegram to Stills that said "Eat a Peach, Neil". WTF is that, exactly? And he can't even show up to be inducted with his bandmates? I guess it was "beneath him" to be inducted as part of a group. Well, I got news for Neil, he was never as good as he was when he was a part of that band. And not that he wasn't great as a solo or with the Horse, he was. Whatever it was, it was an insult to those inductees, and they had a right to be upset.

Well, he is an ordained minister.

Audience should have applauded when he mentioned the Lord. Regardless of individual belief, it is the polite thing to do. Instead, there was dead silence like he said something offensive.

Ritchie Furay is a Minister. His calm and caring helped to get the Reunion concerts become a reality, not the quixotic junk, that tore them apart.

I don't just think, I know Stephen Stills deserves a Purple Heart, for dealing with Neal junkie 1, then David junkie 2. Stephen was the Captain that kept them together, and helped make it work. Credit where it is well due, Stephen Stills.

@@virginiamiller9765 Neil has never been a junkie. Lots of other things, but never heroin. He couldn't even use psychedelics due to experiencing seizures (he tried when he was younger, with very bad results, and apparently never touched them agian). He was into drinking, pot and coke.
