Awesome video! So what situations do you recommend using the first paste? Would you only use that on dull paint? Great choice in background music by the way. Love your videos man, keep em coming. 👍🏻🙏

A Palmer Thank you! And I always prefer to use the compound first due to it can help remove scratches and then then polish helps with the deep gloss/shine. Because of people like you I can keep doing these videos.

Do you apply any weight/pressure to the buffer pad or do you let the tool do the work?
@JamesDguy

Isnt this a clear coated carbon fiber hood, so it's no different than polishing paint, correct? What about unpainted carbon fiber that is still actual resin?
@JamesDguy

You’re not seeing anyone with a carbon hood that doesn’t have clear on it. There’s such thing as dry carbon, and you aren’t going to be able to buff that and it’s 3x as expensive as regular carbon. The best way to get the dry carbon look without the price is to shoot your carbon hood with a matte clear. Dry carbon is lighter, but not enough to where it’s worth 3x the money. Yet some hyper cars are made that way, but again, you won’t see anyone buffing a carbon hood that doesn’t have some coating on it.

@@colemason2422 actually a lot of carbon fiber hoods and parts only look cleared but are really not, they just use glossy resin. But that glossy resin will ruin in a handful of years if it's not clear coated. Many aftermarket parts if you read their fine print they suggest it to be clear coated. Nearly ALL cheaper aftermarket carbon fiber parts are only resin with no clear.

Maybe sand down and re spray completely? Not sure how the carbon fiber would look after sanding off the clear...

Thats the goal sanding down and respraying in a later video. This was just to bring the shine back.
