Neuer lo ganó absolutamente todo. Aún más que el italiano. Pero este mundial prácticamente lo ganó Buffon, es más, a esta selección la cuestionaron por su juego aún después de ganar el mundial. Neuer es crack pero siempre jugo con los mejores en su prime. Obviamente fue fundamental en los títulos del Bayern y Alemania. Pero nunca más se vio a un arquero mostrando semejante nivel en un mundial como lo hizo Buffon en el '06. Pero bueno, se podría decir que están palo a palo. Cannavaro was a beast. He was the best center back in the world that year and he deserved it. Pirlo and Buffon were the best in their positions too.

Buffon è stato protagonista di imprese meravigliose non solo con la Juve ma anche con la nazionale. E poi è stato un personaggio a livello nazionale ed internazionale. Gli altri sono grandissimi portieri ma non personaggi. Un caso a parte è sicuramente Neuer. Probabilmente più forte di Buffon come portiere...

Daniele Arconti Secondo me Buffon è super sopravvalutato. Se non fosse per la difesa che ha sempre avuto davanti avrebbe preso 3 goal a partita sia in nazionale che con la Juve.

Buffon è stato chiamato a innumerevoli interventi e ci ha salvato più e più volte. Non è stato IL PIÙ FORTE ma un grande si. Ed è stato sicuramente più decisivo di altri osannati dalla stampa filo-romanista (vedi Totti & Co).

Daniele Arconti Buffon in finale ha fatto davvero pena però! 6 volte su 6 spiazzato ai rigori. Se Trezeguet non avesse sbagliato secondo me staremmo a parlare di altro.

Even if the shots were directed at him, it takes great reflexes and skill to be able to safely grab/parry it away to safety away from opposition players. Not to mention having the positional awarness to be at the right place/time to have most of the shots you're facing directly at you, which is something that, in my opinion, set him apart from other goalkeepers.

Even if that was true, the reason for shots going at him, is that he's well positioned. The second shot by Nedved was fantastic and Buffon just caught the ball.
