Yeah, my ex and I divorced 12 years ago and with 2 grown children, we get along better know than we ever did. I've read and heard some wicked nasty divorce stories and am very thankful that we aren't one of them.

I judge books by covers. And I think it’s nice they get along. Marriage is a partnership and a biz, even if both players are on the same team. Guessing they married early 80’s, that wasn’t that uncommon. And it’s NASCAR, the bashing would have been too much. Just my opinion, which makes no diff.

Yeah it’s a little awkward but when two people are being real and honest to each other it’s not gonna come off perfect and smooth life is awkward and what they’re talking about and what Michael put together with the documentary is very very real and I’m sure raw emotions for all of them to relive and share with the world I think this is a wonderful podcast in Michael is still making baby steps moving on with his life. I can say I cannot remotely understand or imagine what these two families went through to be able to move on with their lives God bless.

I was part of the Freedom Village kids that came and worked on cars. I was on John Andrettis team in '96. Buffy is not kidding about the gas guys. I had to run that gascart to the infield gas station after each pitstop. We had whistles. I was one of those 16 year old kid knocking people over back then lol. I remember we all had crushes on Buffy. She still looks good :)

Somehow this slipped passed by me until now somehow. Nothing but respect for them both. Refreshing, to piggy back on many other comments complimenting Buffy and mikey. Another reason why our sport is the greatest. Its about the people, their stories, the journey's, etc.

Back in the day I used to see Michael & Buffy on TV, I thought they were NASCAR's version of Barbie & Ken. That's what they looked like. And the names, Michael & Buffy, sounded more like something out of a prep school than NASCAR.

The documentary is here on YT. It's fantastic. It's about his journey from a young kid to to a NASCAR driver and to Dale's team to Daytona. So 😢 sad at the end.

Buffy did make one mistake... Dale Sr. wasn't the last driver in Nascar killed during a race, A few months later Blaze Alexander was killed in a Busch race , sadly Blaze was Kerry Earnhardt's best friend and was killed racing each other

Blaze was in an ARCA race. So technically correct Dale was the last one in NASCAR, but you are correct, NOT the last one.

Jason Casteel from rumors and just a few things Michael has said is that between the 01 Daytona 500 and starting his team Michael was struggling mentally (depressed) and that had a lot to do with it. There were also rumors that Buffy and Dale Jarrett had an affair (DJ got a divorce around the same time) but not sure I believe that.

Funny she named her son by the new husband Sterling. Michael and Sterling Marlin used to be really close. He used to joke about Sterling coming over for breakfast all the time. He said I thought he liked her cooking but I decided it was her daisy dukes. Lmao:)

Her son is named after his father. His full name is Adam Sterling Hawthorne Jr. They call him Sterling because dad goes by Adam. Nothing to do with Sterling Marlin at all.

Michael said,"no, if I wanna see a good looking woman take her clothes off,I'll go see my wife." So then Schrader says,"How bout you Sterling, you wanna go?" And Sterling says,"Na,I'm going with Michael! " Lmao. CLASSIC
