This is the best bug net install video - I have a Transit and it worked the same way.

You probably have more use for them than we do.😂 I bet there might be a brand out there with one for the express or maybe you’ll have to see one up yourself?🤔 Thanks for watching!

I am planning on installing this tomorrow and it better work and not mess up my weather strip
@Trailvagabonds
@Trailvagabonds 11 ай бұрын
Just be mindful of not pulling off too much at a time and if it doesn’t seem to be going on well check that the metal in the weather stripping isn’t closed or bent. Easily adjusted with your fingers or a screw driver. I believe you can do it!

It’s an upgrade we’ve loved! Feels like a real game changer with the trips we’ve been on so far. I hope it goes smooth for you. The biggest pain was adjusting it to be level but once you get that out of the way it should go well

Nobodys talking about the bottom not attaching. this is a highway for some bug entry
@Trailvagabonds
@Trailvagabonds 9 күн бұрын
We have never had issues with bugs getting in the bottom, even when there is some light coming from there. There is actually an explanation from Van Essential about how this isn’t a problem because bugs vision doesn’t work in that way. I’m not sure if any of the other brands on the market have a solution to this. It might just be more annoying with some form of closure there. You could always explore magnet options or Velcro in a couple spots.

On bottom front edge of the slider, where you had to remove that lower casing....how did you re-install it? The casing covers a portion of the weatherstripping so it pushes the screen out of alignment. Did you readjust outside what you showed in the video?
@Trailvagabonds
@Trailvagabonds 2 ай бұрын
I ended up pulling a little extra slack in that corner. It’s definitely not that fun to work around it and was a bit of a pain if I remember right. With the extra slack it allowed it to appear to sit flat and aligned. A little trial and error

Hey, thanks for the video. Can the screen go "both-ways", meaning, if my dog decides to enter the van from outside, will the screen comply to his will? Thanks again!

Great video. How’s the bike slide been holding up? I’m trying to decide if I want to fool with it for the mtn bikes.
@Trailvagabonds
@Trailvagabonds Жыл бұрын
Thank you! The slides have been awesome! Even when we don’t bring the bikes in one of the trays we have gear totes that can fit perfectly and being able to pull out the slides makes it so easy to get to gear from further in the back. We do need to work on some storage solutions to the sides of the trays but I wouldn’t do it any other way

@@Trailvagabonds yes, a few trips in the spring and now riding early mornings. I am contemplating buying a Trek Checkpoint in the fall to allow for more gravel bike packing. Still on the fence. Looks like Utah is your happy place for you both ❤️

Ooo, looks like a fun bike! We have Salsa Journeyman (now Journeyer) which is an all roads bike. Eats up the gravel very well. You can get on some fun adventures on dirt! Glad you are getting out. We haven’t been sadly. I sat on a trainer in the winter before doing a bike packing trip in New Mexico. But after that I’ve only been out for a few rides. It’s 100 here today so it makes it even more difficult to want to ride. The mtns are always a little cooler but you still need to be out by 6am or the sun gets oppressive. We still do our best getting out with the dogs on hikes and such. We’ve had a little more freedom lately and hope to finally get back into shape 😂

Do you squeeze the clips with anything, or just push them on ?!
@Trailvagabonds
@Trailvagabonds 10 ай бұрын
The clips are very tight so you don’t need to squeeze them. Sometimes so tight it would be helpful to pry them open. The weather stripping however has a metal track in it that can be squeezed shut to help it hold

What about the magnet/weight in the top center of the rear panel? What did you do about that?
@Trailvagabonds
@Trailvagabonds Ай бұрын
I’m not sure exactly what you mean. There is an opening that goes around the door closure mechanism. It then has a magnet cover to go over any opening that’s there. I’ll have to look at it again if I’m missing something. Please clarify if I didn’t answer what you were asking, I might be missing something.

If you install these, are you able to close the sliding and back doors?
@Trailvagabonds
@Trailvagabonds 4 ай бұрын
Yep, the doors will close when they are in place or even if they are rolled up as long as you don’t have a cabinet pushing the roll out against the door too much. They’ve worked great for us and I haven’t had a need to remove them through winter. Definitely can recommend!
