Thanks for looking at my Buick Electra stage ll sleeper (we call it "Da Mothership") at the Drag Strip Alaska Raceway Park. I have put much thought into building a beatiful car is stock in apperance. The Engine is a Buick 455 stroked to 482 cubic inches, TA Aluminum Stage ll heads, Shorty headers, Hyd roller cam. A 9" ford rearend with 3.90 gears was fabricated to fit into this big beast. The car is full weight..

They were very nice riding automobiles with plenty of power for everyday driving. My best friends father had a 69 Electra 4 door hardtop. The last of the high compression engines was in 70. It was a steady decline after that when GM cut the compression ratio on all their engines in 71 setting the stage for unleaded fuel and the introduction of catalytic converters. The large displacement V8's would end up only making 200 net horsepower by 75 and 76. How the mighty have fallen.

Beautiful, 1970 rare Electra coupe model with white upholstery! A seldom-seen survivor. My in-laws had a brand new one in December of ‘69. Just unfortunate someone had to bugger-up the look and sound of that supposedly silent beast, with those loud, ugly, ghetto mufflers. These cars were supposed to have resonators after the mufflers to make the car luxuriously quiet. These beauty’s aren’t supposed to be noisy! Hope you can get those off quickly and back to the elegant way this boulevard cruiser was supposed to be!! Nice car otherwise!

I fully understand, however the point of this car was to build a car that looked slow but was fast. This car is wolf in sheeps clothing. Plenety of quite ones out there, probably the majority. I like power, but do apprciate a quite car. The mufflers when I ordered I thought would be more quite. I think I will change them out to achieve a quite sound as possible.
