My gym is closed to so I ordered the Bands with the tubing resistance ranging from 10 all the way to 30 lb I didn't really know how to do the chest workout until I watched this video

I like how you have no ego even with the press ups, instead of editing it you openly say "yeah can't get it at that band level I will drop down" most online personalities would have just done the whole "yeah did they all with the hardest band".

Love the fact you actually go through the working sets and demonstrate that failure is attainable with the correct technique even for a big dude like yourself, it cements my faith in bands even more

I appreciate you James Grage! I'm in my late 40's and free weights have taken a toll on me.I switched to bands and it allowed me to continue training without the snaps and aches.This is a great way to train smarter.I really never felt it in my chest with the bench press anyhow.Now I actually feel like I have a chest .L0l.I can see the results without my shoulder pains.I'm 6'4 223 and want to continue being healthy and strong with muscles.Thanks again !

I've had resistance bands for years but never once used them, always been a weights guy. I did this workout this morning (day 6 of Coronavirus quarantine) and i gotta say.. WOW! I totally underestimated bands, got a KILLER burn

I'm working since 2 years with bands because y start to develop some kind os tendinitis with free weights, the advantage of Bands for my is the progressive tension (so no problem now with my forearm tendinitis) . you can be shure that you will get amazing results!!!

@@nadim2934 Yes they do... I can see a change on my body with only a week or so of using them.... Tomorrow I will call in to freeze my gym membership and If I see a constant change with bands, I will cancel my gym membership for good.

I like the T-shirt idea! Just as long as "UNDERSUN" is below "Join The Resistance". Wouldn't want people to interfere with a workout with politics! A Camo shirt with the "JTR" in black and an orange "UNDERSUN" below the "JTR"? Nah! Black shirt--Camo "JTR"--Orange "UNDERSUN" below the "JTR".

At 66 y/o I have struggled with shoulder and Bicep issues for over 5 years. I recently switched to exercise bands and have literally rehabilitated both to better than I ever was. James has the best exercises I have I have seen to date. Every time I do one of his muscle specific exercises, I really feel the difference and the wild pumps I am getting. Thank you James for helping me get mu body feeling younger and stronger than ever.

On a door that swings out toward you, you can also put the anchor through the hinge side of the door which is the stronger part of the door.

I have always told people “your muscles have NO IDEA how much weight you’re lifting. They just know if they are getting worked and fatigued. Don’t pay attention to the numbers on the dumbbells, instead focus on good form and mind muscle connection. Love it bro! Good advice

Big thanks to James I've had bad injuries to my shoulders making weight training harder and posing a risk of making my injuries worse. I got into bands through physio and at this point I'm now fitter, stronger and physically healthier through band training and people like you sharing tips and programmes. Thank you very much

I'm sure I speak for others as well when I say this, but your resistance band videos have been straight up gems. We're all doing our best to adjust without access to a gym, and seeing how challenging a banded workout can be vs. weights has been up-lifting. I will never underestimate the power of a resistance band ever again lol! Your channel is about to blow up!!!

Thanks for the ideas. I bought bands a while back for assistance with my calisthenics, but now I use the bands for other exercises like upper chest flyes at home and squats/lunges/bridges. As long as you're creative you can get a good workout with any exercise

Grage is quickly becoming my favorite youtube trainer. I have some experience getting in shape, dating back to my days in the Army, but Ive recently discovered the benefits of using resistance bands over free weights, and I honestly dont think ill ever go back. Resistance bands are so practical and I find that they help me maintain better form. I really like training by feel more than worrying about how much the weights I were using weighed. It helps that bands fit in a nice travel size pouch too. Love Grage's videos.

I love this guy since watching his videos I've started using flat bands and tube style bands with handles and door anchors I still use weights I still do bodyweight workouts and adding resistance bands to the mix my home gym is now complete Bands work James Grage you are the man

From past more than 12 weeks i tried the same way what James sir used the band in 1st set of Push up...using the extra heavy band but i never made it at all with that band in Push up hope it will take me a lot of time cause he is a pro and i am just newly with bands :)

100% honest, 0% bullshit. This is what I like about James Grage. Can't do 10 sets with insane amount of weight? Zero ego, just cut it down to something to finish up your set. This is how you get results.

Got a set of 6 bands on Ebay, ranging from 5 to 230lbs......some gloves and D-rings to attach to ankle straps to do standing one legged hamstring curls, gotta say , getting better results and joint pains all gone, muscles growing and more focused during training without the gym distractions, seriously thinking about never returning to the gym again and slowly build up a home weights/cable machine setup in addition to these bands....if you train with good tension, form, biomechanics and good nutrition, you can look much better without a commercial gym membership!!

Just found this guy and he’s great. Between his stuff and Jeff Cavalier, I’m gonna get SWOLE and strong! I’m new to bands, but I’m completely sold on them. Great videos and a great instructor!

It’s best to set the anchor on the hinged side of the door where it has the most structural strength since the force will be applied across a much larger area. Also, the anchor will stay in place if someone opens the door, as opposed to anchoring it on the top, bottom or opening side where the anchor will slip if the door is opened. I don’t really see it damaging a door since the soft anchor distributes half of the force on the door frame which is very sturdy, but I’d still play it safe. Also, I love using bands for chest flies. As he points out in his chest videos, the front delts really take a lot of the load away from the chest at the back end of chest flies. And the chest takes the most load once the front delts are nearly fully contracted after your arm is almost straight out in front of you. So I like to do unilateral chest flies with the bands because you still get a full stretch in the chest, but the resistance the band produces reaches a climax after the front deltoid can no longer contribute and the load is almost exclusively on the chest as your arm moves past the midline of your body. And internally rotating the hand towards the end helps to contract the upper chest just a bit extra. I’ve definitely helped my upper chest catch up to the lower using bands.
