Looks like a great build...after lumber prices come back down

This table arrived well packaged and on time. kzfaq.infoUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!

This looks great and it may be perfect to cover up a large rock sticking up in our backyard. I had just mentioned to my wife that some sort of round or octagonal table with benches would be perfect just two days ago!!

Ana, nice job. I'm so wowed by your plans. You just make it look so easy. I believe a well matured kid, around 12 & up, could easily build this table all by theirselves using your plans. I don't know how you create these projects in your head, but you go girlfriend. I'm a motivated, strong willed, positive attitude, w/the belief a women can almost do everything a man can do, you've got to let men think their a little bit better @ somethings or they cry a lot & will not help you if you really need their help w/the heavy lifting, I don't want to do all the lifting too. Just built this yesterday! Thanks for the plans and directions, it was fairly easy and took me 3 hours.

I made my benches separate so they can easily be moved when needed in another area.i added a removable lazy Susan. And poly eurothaned the whole thing.a very fun build.thanks Anna

Nice table Ana. How about making a rectangle one so the kids can put there drinks in the open lined cavity in the middle of the table or even to keep the bowl of Guacamole cool in that cavity full of ice. Some things are just best cold, ya think.

The bench seats are cantilevered over the edge with no support under them. This means that when one heavy person sits down and puts their legs under the table then the whole table will tip over.

this might be a future project in my shop with some jatoba or sapele.....nice work!!

Loved this video and built myself one! Stained it while it was apart, so it's totally protected head to toe! Used Arborcoat translucent in Teak color....it's beautiful. It's a heavy chunky table, so if you can build it where you want it to sit, that would be great. I didn't have that luck. I have one issue....I find when I sit on the sides where the top planks are running left to right, the table wobbles a bit. Am not sure if it's because it is sitting on the grass, maybe a bit uneven ground? But we turned it and moved it as much as I could, and still it shifts. Am going to let it settle into the ground, maybe add some more screws here and there. But just wondering if anyone else noticed that. When you sit on the other two sides, where the top planks are coming towards you, is solid...no issues. any ideas????

Love this table but am curious about the risk of tipping if a couple of people were seated only on one side of the table.

it is very heavy! Have you ever considered stock less than 1.5 thick? also the rigidity seems to lack a bit if it is pulled..to move Also i did not see a difference on attaching the stretchers that would make them more secure lumber cost here was 249$

Looks awesome I would love to try to make one myself but what about sanding down the surfaces like where you sit and the top and possibly using a router over the edges of the seats and the top just to make it look nice and so the edges aren't as sharp?

Absolutely love this design. Question, would these plans still work if I made the legs longer to create a high-top table? Forty-six inch legs instead of 28 inches? Would the change place too much stress on the seats?
