Chromatic ascension and descension are great for adding tension, suspense or a sense of rising/falling in music! I hope people enjoy this sort of laid-back informal approach to sharing musical ideas, and come out inspired to create.

Hope folks like this, and sorry for my constant sniffling. It's pretty cold out and I just got back after some birdwatching.

Hey You! GTSY! -I don't know about anyone else, but I think I'm getting inspired. I'm not a musician but there are all these guitars and things around here and I found myself finally getting somewhat comfortable with them. So far I can only strum a few chords and scream out JuuuuuliiiiiaaaaaaAAAAAAnnnaaaaaaaaaaa! (my friend has a crush on Juliana) I think it's showing promise.. - the song, not the crush lol Hey! Take care of yourself! - I hope you're not hurt too much. Dude be careful out there.

Most epic chromatic movement I can think of is in “Echoes” by Pink Floyd. Great video dude keep it up!

at the end, thats called word painting aka prosody. elliott does that a lot: Roman Candle - the flickering, candle-like guitar solo Coming Up Roses - the musical false start to the song, then the "junkyard full of false starts" lyric The Biggest Lie - as he's "waiting for the train", the music picks up, even starts to get jaunty, but then you find out it "only goes one way" and the music goes back to being more solemn it's a penchant of his lyricism, and like his vocal melodies, bleeds into his guitar arrangement
