Pretty sure in that studio he was using drum triggers attached to the heads. Or, if you look carefully below the tiny mics on the drums they have a weird thing about a foot below them which almost seems like a A/D conversion port. The triggering might be from there instead. Since there were overheads etc, I'm sure what we were hearing on that video was a "mix" but I agree with you that there were a kit of samples far forward. Not that Estepario isn't that even and accurate, as you know from his own crib's videos rigged with the Yamaha EAD (which I will be kitting my own stu's acoustic drum set out with next year, that is the fire). You're funny as hell CR, enjoyed the reaction vid!

El Estepario used to be my favourite in 2020. It was just him sitting in his room and chopping over sick songs, but I feel like he has lost a lot of what made me fall in love with him in the first place. He now uses triggers and always tries to sell stuff… Plus he has given up his single pedal chops for the same old fills all the time.
