Idk if it makes sense, but I feel like the asthma makes sense lowkey, like he'd have to come up with different breathing strategies in the first place,, so he puts that into singing. Like he knows what gets him out of breath so he avoids that and does his best to make all of his choices fully supported so he doesn't experience an attack 🤠

LOL that second line is so real! my theory: they knew this show was coming and saw how popular Jay and Wumuti were and intentionally stopped showing Jay in the latter half of BP to lower his chances for ZB1 to put him on this show. Regardless, we stan BDU!

@@chaemochi yeah, looks like Mnet made this show for Jay. I'm pretty sure Mnet wanted jay to debut with ZB1 during BP but they are can't rigged the result and then after finding out that Jay didn't make it to debut line up they decided to make another show for Jay

@@wennioesman8553 I like this theory, but I don't think that quite works. The only member of ZB1 that I think Mnet didn't really want is probably Ricky, and imo they would've wanted Park Hanbin in ZB1 over Jay. That's why he was immediately put into Evnne over Jay. However, I do believe this show was still made for Jay (and Wumuti and Donghun). He likely fits the vision of a vocal-focused boy group more than ZB1, who has a more specific almost flower-boy adjacent concept. ZB1 just happens to also be a vocally strong group because the top 18 were all very skilled.

Can't believe this era is over! Build Up didn't have a ton of variety content, but we did get some awesome stages. Thank you so much for these compilations! Will definitely be following BDU and hope it helps One Pact exposure as well. Not sure what genre I want them to sing, but I kinda feel like tropical would go really well with Jay's voice? I'm curious now lol. Jongwoo has been dropping some hints on the comeback recently, so production on that should be ramping up soon. He said the comeback will be grand and have a storyline, with a mix of genres. I guess they didn't go the hip-hop route after all? ngl, was hoping they would but ofc still seated for whatever they've got.
