@@SoundAdventurer Thank you! I ended up making one out of a single piece of PVC, and am using a beeswax mouthpiece. After a while, I heated the pipe up with a heatgun, gave it a bell, and also created a couple small bends and a twist - what an improvement in sound, as well as playability 👍

@@Ghost_Os Really? I've actually wondered if changing the shape of the PVC would make a remarkable difference in sound. Do you have pictures on Flickr or somewhere else? I'd love to see what you came up with.

@@SoundAdventurer It definitely improved the resonance, and it's easier to get a drone going. To be clear, I'm very much a beginner! I don't really have a presence on social media, but I can describe how I did what I did: I first made the bell by heating one end of the pipe until it was pliable, then pressed in down onto a wine bottle to flare the pipe a bit (it will only stretch so much). Then, sat down on the ground, and worked out where to place a bend so that I could comfortably play on the ground while supporting the bell / flare on my foot. Once I guesstimated where the bend should go, heated that section, and put maybe a 30 degree bend in it (it was eyeballed and estimated how much of a bend, and will of course vary with your body proportions and preferred playing style). Finally, heated another section about halfway between the mouthpiece and the 30ish degree bend; once that area became pliable, I twisted what I would guess to be a little shy of 90 degrees. 'Twisted' meaning the way you would twist a lid off a jar. I can't recall if I wore gloves or not at any point, but probably a good idea - the pipe will of course be hot where you're bending or twisting it. Keep your heat gun moving, and turn the pipe to heat it evenly all the way around and avoid scorching it. Have a safe place to set your heat gun down. In all cases, hold your twists and bends in place until the pipe cools down and takes the new shape. When / if you flare one end on a bottle, you may find that it becomes a bit stuck - mine did. A little careful twisting and wiggling freed it without breaking the bottle. Spraying or coating the bottle with a little cooking oil first would probably help keep it from getting stuck, or at least allow it to be freed easier. Just a guess; I didn't do it, but it wasn't too bad.
