Hi. I mentioned in a recent video that I will be doing my first art journal this summer. What I didn't say is that I have been collaging and making glue books through this winter. I have millions (not sure that is an exaggeration) of magazine images in 9 x 12 envelopes. This video definitely gave me some ideas on how to use some of them this summer. I made a template of my square "inchie" punch but for some reason never thought to do so with some of my other punches.I have some dies I should do this with as well. Thanks. This video was great. Thanks so much Keryn. I never really know if what I decide to do on a video is what people want to see/learn. What can I say...once a teacher , always a teacher I guess. In all seriousness though I love sharing what I know so others can benefit and enjoy doing creative things. I truly believe art is good for the soul. Karen

Drawing isn't necessarily my 'happy place' either (you discuss @4:54ish). So frustrated yesterday trying to draw a simple primitive fish sketch on a journal cover I'm making, and had to walk away before I threw it away. Fresh perspective this morning, fixed boo-boos, mag scan scheduled for later. Happy 💃Dance that I clicked and listened. T♥Y Karen.

I'm wondering if it isn't the more helpful video on magazines and collages I have never seen (or ever seen .....I don't remember my english lessons !!!) !! so creative !! I have a lot of magazines and pages, now I know what to do with them !! thank you a lot for sharing !! friendly béatrice

Karen, This was a very helpful video! I have used magazine pages in my gel printing as well, but I love the idea of using them whole to brayer off in. Why didn't I think of that? I'm wondering if you could make your summary outline available,? You had so many great ideas that I'd like to print out a copy for keeping with my journaling stuff. Thanks, Linda

drawing is also not one of my happy ways to express my art. and I love abstract or magazine collage, and sentiments. and I love that people that don't/can't draw well can still be considered artists/artistic.

Thanks Sandy. ICAD stands for Index Card A Day. This started as a challenge that Daisy Yellow put out to do art on an index card each day of June/July. Now it typically stands for art the size of an index card - 4 X 6 or so ( index cards vary in size ) . I've done the challenge 3 years now....If interested you can find my videos in the playlist ICADS . Thanks for watching. Karen

What is an ATC and ICAD?

ATC stands for artist trading cards...measuring 3 1/2 X 2 1/2 inches...mini art on one side with artists info on back. But now can be just mini art that size. ICAD is Index Card A Day....a challenge that's been going for many years...but now stands for mixed media/art journal pages that measure 4 X 6 or 5 X7 ( typical index card size)

The links to the other videos can be found in two places....as you watch the video there is an "i" in the top right hand side. ( these are ICards) ..if you click on it...it will show the links. Also, if you watch to the very end you will see "end cards" which if you click on them it will take you to the video. I hope that helps. Karen
