Building 1929 Ford Model A Hot Rod From A Pile Of Parts!!

In a recent "Week In The Life" video we bought this 29 Model A project from a local estate. The Coupster has had the majority of the metal work done, which is a major jump forward for this project. The project sits on an original 32 frame with an original k-member, model a crossmembers, and its fully boxed! When we bought the project there was no suspension, or engine and trans included so Mike brought back some parts from the warehouse, and its time to put this hot rod together!! The 29 Coupester is available for sale and we will be bringing it to Carlisle if it still available for sale!
For Sale: 1928/29 Coupster AV8 project.
-1928/9 Coupe body with a custom roadster top. Front bow is adjustable in height and rear is shortened model A. Has modified A roof vinyl for mock-up but top needs redone or finished as it’s just tacked to the bows.
-Body has chopped 1934 Ford cabriolet windshield posts and opening installed. Posts have been leaned back. Gives the car a great look.
-All metal work done with replacement floors, subrail repairs and exterior patch panels done
-Original 1932 Ford frame with K member, boxed rails and pinched to fit a model A body. Has model a crossmembers
-1933/4 Front Axle with split wishbones
-1947/8 Rear Axle with model a spring
-59AB Flathead engine core with Flathead floor shirt transmission
-edelbrock super 2x2 aluminum intake, Thickstun aluminum heads
-fiberglass 1932 ford grill shell with original grill insert
-custom modified 32 headlight bar with BLC headlights
-15” mercury wheels with staggered tires

Everyone should have a crib full of tools and a warehouse full of "car toys" to assemble into these nostalgia "icons" !!! FUN, FUN, FUN !!! We "know" you are only teasing Mike but we also "know" he is "INDISPENSABLE" !!!! As long as you both realize the "value" of the other, you make a great team !!! Congrat's and "Carry on" !!!

Very cool! I've been going through my dad's stash and have a couple cool projects. I'm mocking up a roadster pickup now. It's brand new though. My dad made modified panels from sheet metal from original parts. I haven't found it all yet. I've found a good 32 frame too no body though. I've also located a good pair of 33-34 rails and a 33 Tudor body I might pull out in a handful of months. There's so many parts to go through

Someone's going to get a great hot rod project to finish building out. Matt and Steve getting it to this point is a huge step up for them to start with. The owner / builder will have huge bragging rights because of who and where they bought it from.

Good luck. How cool would it be to get there and have Matt including you and your finished on the road car in a future show episode. Maybe even get him to autograph it somewhere. Have you included any parts you got from Mike. That would really get their attention.

As you start selling more "Kit Projects" mocked up cars. Just to keep track of them and reference them. You could weld into the frame, always in the same spot, an ID# like "ITG-12" etc...

How much wider is the 46-48 rear end compared to a 40 year. Is it an allusion on the video, or does it actually look ok…width wise? Sometimes with narrower rear ends they look tucked in like they actually do with street rods. Maybe the non-reversed 16” wires help…and would look too wide with deeper dished wheels.

The rear only has one spring leaf, and the front has an entire pack. I saw that when he put the front and rear in and Matt did mention that as something that needed changed.
