Now you need a rain shower head mounted above one of your sugar scoops. I'm also wondering about the viability of a thermal solar water heater panel with a recirculating pump connected to your water heater tank.
@RedSeas5 ай бұрын
Funny enough, we put a shower head holder up there but found that we used way more water and most of it missed us when the wind caught it 😂 still it’s there if we ever need it I guess. As for solar heating, we have been toying with the same sort of idea. Actually like the idea of getting an evaporator plate from a marine fridge and mounting it under the solar panels. That way we can collect the heat that builds up there and circulate it to the hot water tank. Could use a very small volume pump to keep the water moving thru it from the tank and hopefully get some heat from that. We also have a plan to divert solar power once the batteries are full so every day we can electrically heat water too. Still a while off getting that project underway tho.

We are learning every day for sure. Something tells me that adventure will never end. The last few weeks have been a sudden boost in viewers which is great. Hopefully everyone is enjoying the journey and sharing with their friends. The more the merrier (and the more likely we will be able to keep on going).

Wow! Good job you two! MORE Flash Dance bits please!
@RedSeas Жыл бұрын
😂 yeah we have been playing around with a few silly dances recently. That one was probably the result of serious dehydration and mental breakdown but we got there! We are thinking we should do a watermaker review/walk through at some point as we didn’t really explain how we use it…because we didn’t really know how we would.

You did not tell us how you got the water maker to work at the end. What did you do to fix it and get it working?
@RedSeas Жыл бұрын
I think we got close to a mental breakdown getting that one sorted. It was a combination of things. Faulty solenoid, air leak in the plumbing and a few other things I think.
@gr4yz42 жыл бұрын
What a great episode! Love your approach to being ever so slightly out of your depth... plan plan plan .. give it a try .. fix it. and it works! well done. However - fiberglass with no ppe!, not just your eys but I thought that stuff needed a full bio-siuit, not that I kow what I'm talking about, but take care of yourself!! (8:30 uncovered eyes again! ) I'm watching carefully and I will comment on any health and safety concerns - speaking of which all that water on the deck and dancing around with a bandaged foot - asking for a slip hazard :-) All that said, my favourite quote from this video has to be "I haven't done it before, but I have done paper mache" that quote needs to be used again and again.
@RedSeas2 жыл бұрын
I think you can tell we were going a little crazy by the end of this particular project. After some additional research, we found that the likely cause of the stinging eyes was the solvents used in the hardener. That said, we can’t be sure. Fiberglass is evil and wonderful stuff but yes, many lessons still to be learnt. And there are some more fiberglass projects to come. Sit tight with your HS clip board for that one. It feels like everything about living on a boat is being willing to try it and more willing to fix the mess you make. Sooner or later we might actually understand some of the things we are doing. (….Probably later)

so what is the 12V High Pressure pump you use ?
@RedSeas Жыл бұрын
We have a leeson high pressure pump. It’s probably not the most efficient pump out there as it draws quite a lot of power but it does the trick.
@novelistusonthewater Жыл бұрын
@@RedSeas Thanks for the info. I looked at the leeson but the numbers don't look too good. Right now I am having a 3KW inverter driving a Karcher K2 pressure washer as the HP pump but thats neither efficient nor quiet (not even for a deaf old man like me ;-). So am looking at a pumptec 113C now and that should give me 20 l on 20 amp or 40 litres an hour with two of them. They are $380 each and I ordered one for testing now. I have a 400Ah LifePo4 bank and spending 80 ah for 80 litres of water would be ok.
