300 inches is a lot bigger than I thought. I was using a website to measure my projectors capabilities, and this is probably all I would do for now even though I could do more. What's hard about big outdoor projector screens like this, especially with a thin frame to hold it, is the chance of wind blowing it over and storage space. Making a stronger frame and making pieces that can easily be assembled would make this setup complete.

I’ve had a 200” screen for years. Hanging it in my living room has always been an issue due to its overall size, but it’s amazing whenever it’s up. However, I’ve always yearned for a better (faster) way to erect this thing so it’s enjoyable throughout the year rather than being limited only to special occasions. Will these erectors supply enough rigidity to simply frame the screen so I can quickly suspend it from ceiling mounts? I’ve thought about using an aluminum rail and creating a track system almost like a shower curtain but stretching the screen flat is always the biggest time consumer so this concept has not come to fruition yet. I’m hoping to find something light weight enough to quickly frame out the screen (wrinkle free) and be able to either mount it or lean it against a wall.

Looks similar to the frame I built for a parade trailer, to put letters on. Due to budget restrictions, I had to use a combo of 1/2" and 3/4" conduit. It ended up around 30 feet long, and 7-10 feet high. Due to the Covid "burst," it wasn't even used. So, it was taken apart, and stored without fully testing it. (What could go wrong?) I'll be finding out in November whether the thing actually works. (Unlike you, I didn't have a flat space big enough, so it got, ummm, messy.) I found that cross braces helped, too, but didn't (and still don't) have any of the crossover clamps, which I think would help... I also discovered that just because you can build it with minis, don't forget real world limits. I did the minis with a 10 foot piece at the bottom, but quickly found that I had to use two five foot pieces, since I had to assemble it on the ground, and that meant I needed two pieces. I then found, on my next project, that I didn't have enough of the mini stuff, so don't skimp on those either. :) They really do help in the design process.

Let us know how it works when you build it again. I really like the minis for prototyping and planning out connections because I can't sketch to save my life. You're right though, real world limits don't always transfer to the mini scale. Thanks for the comment!

The problem with sketching is it's not in 3D, and the minis really help with that part of the design. I'll be sure to take pictures on Nov 26th when I put it together.

Buen video.

Can I add maker pipe connectors to black iron pipe? I basically need to add a cross/support brace to a desk I built.

HI there Jonathan, thanks for the questions. The link in that video was for the pre-orders. Now you can find the 1" connectors as a variant under the website connectors listings. makerpipe.com/collections/modular-pipe-fittings/products/t-connector?variant=39641520832585

How tall is the screen

The screen itself is 148" tall. The frame we made adds another 3 feet or so to the bottom. Thanks for the question!
