Making a simple and “cheap” layout in retail tycoon 2! It was about $700k if you exclude the parking lots, buses, and subway!

Hey Smilers. I’m back and I’m here to stay, hopefully. I really miss this. I miss building. I miss being inspired by other creations. It’s been so long. I don’t even remember the last project I made. Was it a store, was it a park? I don’t know.
There’s a lot of building games I wanna revisit. zoo park tycoon, restaurant tycoon, prison tycoon. Comment some other games you’d like to see me try.
I already started building the parking lot. It’s always the most satisfying part to do because everything lays out so smoothly. And I don’t remember there being EV spaces so that’s cool. We stan sustainability.
Immediately after I placed the buses and subway, my millions of dollars from afking just disappeared. Oh well. At least I’ll get less robbers. But how cool is that, having public transport directly stop in front of the groceries. It couldn’t be my city.
This layout is pretty simple. It’s one floor and I’m only selling food products. If you want money trees for those items, then this is great.
I probably could have made 2nd floor and then it would be a supermarket. Selling clothes, kitchen supplies. Technically I am selling furniture, in the frozen section. I remember going to an h mart in the basement level. Ikea is a good example too.
And yes purple is my favorite color now. It looks so good with the brown floors and walls. I really like cozy comfy vibes.
There’s nothing wrong with spamming windows. I do it because roblox lighting is funky sometimes. I put a roof and it’s pitch black. But it’s just a game and I don’t care too much to make things realistic. I wish I could have filled the space with 2x1 windows but I didn’t wanna buy the extra land.
Oh yea. Making this was cheaper than I thought. If you don’t include the parking lots and transport, I only spent 600-700k on the building. And trust me, autoclickers will save your life. Okay. No one has 12 hours everyday to just manually grind the money. I promise it won’t hurt to leave your computer on overnight for 8 hours once in a while. If you downloaded a virus, you probably clicked the pop up ads too fast. There’s so many good and safe reccs on reddit.
I didn’t realize how much space the parking lot took. I’ve seen some stores enclose it using pillars or windows and then just build above it. The entrance is inspired by walmart. It’s where all the machines and carts and security go. And those scammy machines that give you 2 cents for recycling your phone. Also, the amount of times I’ve seen robbers exit my old stores and be ignored by the guards is crazy. That’s why having a single entrance is good.
For my future stores, I wanna do more specialties. Like retail only or a boutique. Actually I might just build a mall then. Because getting money trees at this stage is super slow. I have 42 right now, and the requirements for the same products keep increasing. That’s why I wanna start selling the cars and appliances.
Ok enough of me rambling. Let’s just skip the knit and gritty decorations and get to the tour.
So that was fun. All jokes aside, I’ll share the rest of the building footage. Do what you want with it. I hope you’re inspired. I hope you’re motivated. I hope you remember to have fun. I’ll see you soon. Goodbye
