I wondered why someone would put an aftermarket radiator on a V6 VE. Those Alloytec motors are a POS. ...Yes, speaking from experience.

As a foxbody owner for the last 13 years as my first car till now I can't tell you how excited I am to watch this!!!...Me and my brother have talked endlessly about putting a barra in the fox for YEARS now but in the US they are the forbidden ford fruit

How are they forbidden? You can buy them in the states. Or import them... source? The company I work for has a few in stock and can import more.

The Barra 6 iron block is basically a ford 300 6 with a great head bolted on it .the ford 300 engine came stock in mustangs for decades and was the low power alternative to a V8 for the line up . so it's no surprise it fit's like it was made for it because the mustang was designed for a straight 6 and up tell the very early 2000's you could order one .

The barra blocks a bit like grandpa's axe, you can trace it back to the falcon 6s in the early 60s! We just kept on going with the falcon! But like all manufacturers, get it perfect and stop producing the car!

Hell yea! I'm building an 88 fox with a 80mm billet turbo 5.3 LS. If the Barra was an affordable option in the states I would have done that.

The hole punch you can get in an electrical supply in the US. Greenlee brand makes hole punches that use a bolt and the dies like the hydraulic version you saw that your friend used.

These are 3 (even ol' Woodster behind the cam today lol) of the most solid, intelligent, hard working, and laid-back guys on YT. Dont get me wrong, there are a ton of other solid youtubers and channels, but they are all very "theatric" and almost condesending in a way, and some dont even try to hide it... IDK, they just seem like the straightest shooting intelligent mechanics, with a SH!T-LOAD of creativity. I would love to work along side these type of guys.

God love the Fox platform... came from the factory with Windsor V8s, the Lima 4, Essex V6s, Falcon 6s (yes, the US 200ci OHV engine), Cologne V6s.... and the SN95 is just a modified version so you can adapt modular stuff too. So much room you have to go all the way to dropping in a 385 series (429/460ci) with a C6 before the hammer has to come out to bang on the tunnel, and even then just to clear some reinforcing ribs on the trans case and a little extra room on the linkage side.

Hot day here in New Jersey (USA), pop out to the garage for my stash of Kirk's Lemon Squash (imported from Oz). Fill a pint glass with ice, and pour. Start sipping. Doorbell rings. Lady from US Post office has me sign for my Falcon and Territory manual from Haynes, NSW. How crazy.

i would really appreciate a highly detailed series on building a barra including proving or debunking things like the pump housing cracking due to oil pressure at high revs, whether arp head studs are necessary or new torque to yield bolts will do the trick, more detail on the thrust bearing on the crank etc. thanks

Barra engines also get a lot of love here in Sweden. GZ Racing just dyno tested their Barra converted Volvo 940 to more then 1000 bhp and developed engine and gearbox mounts for that conversion.

A Barra in a FOX!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!! The 79 to 81 Mustang had a 250 straight six in it so with the chassis from 79 to 93 being 99% the same. It is no wonder why the Barra fits in it perfectly. I don't know the directions you will be taking from Virginia Motorsports Park to Rising Sun Maryland, But if you are on I-95. Stop off in Woodbridge VA for your Mexican food. There are a few Mexican dive bars there, and they food is great. Just keep everything locked up cause of thieves.

The Fox body Mustang / Fairmont and others could have been gotten with an inline 200 / 250 6 cyl so under hood length isn't an issue.

That shop you are in looks great, obviously a busy place, but still clean. It’s a bit cluttered but not messy. I’m always amused by some shops you see on KZfaq, when they are surgical room clean, I mean do they actually do any work in there? Love it, looking forward to the next one!

Hell yeah! Also pretty sure you can buy a cast replacement thermostat for barra/AU/Eseries engines with a radiator cap fitted. Though welding one on isnt a drama haha.

I'm literally in the process of pulling a hurt engine out of my foxbody notch. I sure wish I had a barra to put in it. Plus I wish they'd let us get away with a custom plate like that here in the states. I'll definitely be watching this series like a hawk.

We have a client that is doing this, not sure if they are going to do anything on youtube or not but they are currently building one with a Barra we imported for them.
