Demotivation happens man, and it's okay. Inconvenient? Yes. Since you just see it sit there and that's not helping if you can't control and do stuff, for example wait for parts availability & weather to name a few. But it does help that you regroup and get back on it fresh with help of friends making that even easier.

From experience I can tell you tarps suck at keeping water out, your best bet is cover all open holes with painters tape and wrap a big hefty bag around the engine then use a few tarps.. orrr if you know you won't be touching your engine for a few months roll it under the car into the engine bay, I guarantee it will stay dry... A few extra steps may save you thousands..Been doing this since 1996 so I figured I'd share what I've known to work on keeping water out..

Hey man, if you're gonna spray brake clean in the engine I'd be sure to put some cheapo oil in there, run the oil pump with the timing belt off with a cordless drill, then dump that oil and put the good stuff in and prime the engine again before putting the timing belt on. The brake clean will break down oil if there's any left in there and particularly any assembly lube you used during assembly. Priming the engine by running the oil pump with a drill is the only way to be sure you got oil everywhere it needs to be before start up.

Doing a motorsports harness on my 3000gt after I built a new engine harness for my haltech ecu. Got my 3000gt ripped apart ATM with the front clip off and my aluminum dash installed. Already built a fuse and relay panel with switches so running components to it shouldn't be too bad lol.

Muguel bro. You want to clean all that grease up. Use SuperClean degreaser its what everyone uses to clean engine parts. It would turn the head into bare aluminum.
