I just walked into Costco for the first time ever, less than a week ago, to buy an LG C1 65." I had always wanted a Klipsch surround sound and saw the 5.1.4, so I grabbed it without doing any homework. I get home and find out they had the other one you showed here. Nobody is singing praise to the 5.1.4. We live 160 miles away round trip, and now they are out of the bigger one on sale. I think, after I return the unopened system, I'm going to buy some Dual 8" Towers and go from there.

Unfortunately it's not all to clear what the differences are in the store (and the 5.1.4 probably even looks like a better value on paper) but we think returning the system is the right choice. Costco has a very good return policy so they'll make sure you're taken care of. Hope you can get a set that you're happy with!

I hear 5.1.4 is good value but the upfiring speakers just add fill to the room and not surround to the room which is supposed to happen

I bought the Yamaha TSR-700 and within a week the Bluetooth/wireless board failed. So I returned it and picked up the Denon S760H. Very happy with it so far.

Just wanted to reach out and say thanks, Because of your reviews on the Costco klipsch 5.O.2 And Denon S760H reviews My home theater system is coming together quite nicely. I did take your advice on the 85" For screen size, but went with the Samsung QN800A As opposed to the Sony you chose. Main reason was the one connect Box and not having to install a power outlet behind the TV on the wall. But also reflection handling is a big deal in my home theater, which is located in a walk out basement and has 3 huge Bay windows across from the screen. As for the Sub I gave very very serious consideration to going with the SVS SB3000's you reviewed, and even the 3000micros. As I was trying to get as much subwoofer as I could with the highest W.A.F But it turns out my wife is A pretty good egg :). We ended up with the SVS SB16 ultra, and she loves the look. Ask for seating the only reason we didn't choose the Valencia's was actually because of the subwoofer selection. Running 2 SB16 ultras wasn't in the cards based on our layout, So to compensate we went with 4 Seatcraft Apex powered recliners with the Sounds shaker amplifier system. For even bass response across all of the of the seating positions. Well thank you all the same, you provide an invaluable service to those making decisions in an ever evolving space. It's good to have a voice you can trust to give an honest perspective.

LOL yep we certainly wouldn't recommend that for daily use, which could be an issue with the SVS Prime 5.1 for example which is why we mentioned the limited placement options. Thanks for watching :)

We got the Costco setup KLIPSCH 5.0.2, 12" sub and Onkyo receiver. Everything on sale and insane price on the Onkyo clearance. Couldn't be happier, although the 12" sub could be better. In fact the 10" sub on the Klipsch Reference Theater Pack 5.1 Channel Surround Sound System which I also purchased on sale sounded better.

I have dual 12s, I think they CAN sound amazing, but before I got the Onkyo RZ50 and ran Dirac, they sound *fine* but now they've opened up a lot and sound way more dynamic. Doesn't sound like the same sub honestly.

Great video! You guys always do a great job breaking everything down. I do recommend another speaker set as an option as well. Fluance has their reference and elite series 5.0 sets. The reference is the same price as the Klipsch set at Costco it just doesn't have the up firing atmos speakers. But I've heard its a nice set of speakers.

I really hope the Onkyo 6050 receiver gets to Costco soon. I have the Yamaha TSR-700 and it is plagued with so many weird behaviors (random shut off, poor HDMI switching, inconsistent AirPlay behaviors) that I can't wait to return it. [Edit to add: SVS has raised the price of the SB-1000 Pro to $699)

@@TwoGuyzTech Thanks for your reply and these videos. I've actually spoken to Costco and they assure me it can be returned well after 90 days. I was basically told "indefinite" but of course I won't be fully comfortable until the return is accepted. Sooner than later, I hope. It's a shame because it sounds very nice with our Focal/SVS setup. If there were an alternative, it'd already be returned. Onkyo has the 6100 available on their site but it's $799. That'd be cheap for our main system but for this one it's overkill. I actually bought a Harmony Hub remote (R.I.P.) because at least now when it misbehaves I'm usually only two taps (power on and new activity) from making it work as expected. Talking with their tech support was, well, you can guess. First world problems.

Great video. I was going to go with SVS but they raised their prices. I ended up getting two Klipsch R-120SW as they are marked down right now for Black Friday. The R-120SW is a lot better than the R-12SW. When the Denon S760H and Dolby Atmos towers go on sale at Costco I will pick those up.

@@TwoGuyzTech yeah for $600, I got the Klipsch pair, which is the price of just 1 SVS. Granted they will not hit as low as the SVS, but they still sound amazing for music and shake the house plenty. I have them turned up just below half. I could not imagine what they could do on full.

@@yournightmare9999 I looked at the BIC but went with Klipsch as I liked them better for music. I have the Klipsch set to below half on the sub and turned down on the receiver and they still shake the house. I now need to upgrade my other components so I can fully enjoy them

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on adding the Monolith M-10 V1 and V2 10in THX Certified Select 500 Watt Powered Subwoofer to the mix. An added feature of the RSL Speedwoofer 10s is the wireless connectivity it offers.

Needless to say, I do enjoy your videos, and find them very informative. I'm surprised, pleasantly, that you even replied to my comment! I has caused me to be even more brazen with a question! I recently upgraded my home theatre to Emotiva's T1's, B1's, and waiting for the C1 to be in stock. Meanwhile I've been researching subs and have a field of the RSL Speedwoofer S10, SVS SB and PB 1000 Pros, and the Monolith 10 THX. I use it for both movies and music and have been leaning towards the RSL, hearing it does both well. Any thoughts you might provide would be extremely appreciated. The room is 16'x 13' with 8' ceilings.

Thanks for the info. I have a polk 5.1 mostly monitor system and PL 200 II sub. Currently using Yamaha v683 to push it. Should I just upgrade the receiver? I mostly use it for movies. I have no issues with the speakers. Just seems to lack power.. Any information is appreciated.

Can the Denon AVR-S760H receiver you mention handle Klipsch speakers because each channel in this receiver can handle 75W max whereas some of the speakers in Klipsch have power input of 100W. Therefore, am I better off using Yamaha receiver with it?

Thanks for watching! Unless you're trying to fill a very large space at a very high volume, the 75wpc would actually fit the Klipsch speakers quite well because they are pretty efficient. Another option would also be the Onkyo TX-NR6050 that we also reviewed here on our channel. Hope this helps!

Great video. I just received the Costco 5.0.2, a Denon x3700H receiver, and an Emovtiva BaxX 7. I have a question a/ crossover setting for the Denon. If say for example, I set the crossovers to say the THX standard of 80 Hx, does that mean anything over 80 Hz is sent to the subwoofer [Klipsch R-12SW (2 of them)] or does it mean anything below 80 Hz is sent to the subwoofer? I am going to try the 80 Hz and compare it to adding 10 Hz to the each speakers lowest frequency response. I was confused over crossover and the Denon manual didn't make it clear. Thank you guys.

Thanks for watching! You'll usually have two different types of crossover settings - subwoofer crossover and speaker crossover. The subwoofer crossover is considered to be a 'low-pass filter' as it only allows frequencies LOWER than the selected value to pass through. The standard here is usually 80Hz as you mentioned, so any of the frequencies below 80Hz will pass through, and anything above will slope down smoothly until there's no output from the sub. In this scenario, only stuff lower than ~80Hz will make it to your Klipsch subs. The speaker crossovers (large, small or selected frequency) work opposite - they're high-pass filters, so only frequencies ABOVE the selected value can pass through to the speakers. There is some confusion about bass getting redirected or moved around to other speakers, but this will only happen if you tell the receiver to do that (like setting your subwoofer signal to LFE + Main or LFE + L/R). Hope this helps!

At the time of writing the script for this video we don't think they were available yet, but since then it does seem like both of those AVRs are available. We would like to test them in the future but since we haven't had any personal experience with those models yet we can't comment on them. Thanks for watching! :)

costco sells klipsch but not owns them klipsch is owned by VOXX International Corporation good to know and onkyo to just to know looking at setups i think you need to look also if you buy speakers that you in a way match receiver a to light receiver or a to light speaker set can be a miss match in watts underpowered when watch a movie its worth researching if set needs to come with a separate sub and wife approval if on budget buy one by one when can not robs bank preferable with one brand chosen like klipsch svs etc not all are rich
