Thanks for filming and sharing this. Did the pad need to be that thick?

No problem. Thanks for watching and commenting. In my case, I went thicker due to slope and frost line, and also out of concern for the way the guys would handle the tank when putting it in position. I have seen them in action. I was afraid they would have it go in hard on one leg and knock an edge or a corner off. The tank weighs 1,000lbs and when it is full it weighs 2,650lbs. There's a lot of weight concentrated on those little legs.

How long does that 500 pound propane tank last you before you get it refilled?
@RoCDIY Жыл бұрын
That's a loaded question... They only fill it to about 75%. Our first year we paid about $2500 to $3000 (ridiculous) for the winter. It only runs the furnace. We had issues within the house that were allowing a lot of heat to escape- Missing or bad insulation, bad window or door seals, and cracked chinking. Our house is a log house. We paid less the next year, but it was still ridiculous. I kept smelling propane. You can tell the difference between propane and burned off propane. I contacted the company and they said they found nothing wrong, which was a lie. My cameras showed no one came on my property. I sprayed soapy water on the connector where they fill the tank and it blew bubbles like crazy. A pine needle was stuck in the connector allowing it to constantly leak. Intentional? I don't know. This company loves to fill the tank when it is no longer cold. I now put a lock on my tank to keep them from filling it during the warm months. We now pay about $1200 a year.

Water on top, keep it wet for about 10 days, and then have pitty for the guy who has to remove it 100 years

Thanks for commenting. This is my 3rd concrete pad that I've done, but I wouldn't say I am anywhere near "experienced" with concrete. The good thing is that it rains all the time in western North Carolina, so it stayed wet for a long time.

With all the cold joints from using bagged concrete in batches, no real reason to cure it like that. More than strong enough to hold a propane tank forever, but will be easy to break up with a jack hammer.

Wow, that lp supplier is a hot mess. After all that delaying on you I'd have them remove the tank from the property and find another supplier. Horrible customer service.

Yes, they are. I haven't had one customer service call go well yet. The tank is finally on the new pad, but the rust hasn't been treated yet. Believe me, I would get another service in a heart beat if I could, but they got the market monopolized around here, They also have ridiculous penalty and equipment removal fees.
